It seems to be a quality unit that is well made. I was unable to pass the plug through it, and that was the only issue. I'm pretty sure my plug was not going to The 30 amp extension cord I have is too large, but I have one from Walmart that I would have to reroute around. The back of the housing had to be cut out in order to make the housing This is not a difficult task. By opening it up with a hole saw, I made it easier to work with. A side cutter could probably be used to cut the section of the unit that needs to be removed to allow the plug to pass, if you did not have a hole saw of the right.
Also, it is a great place to camp. An electric cable hatch on the camper was without a cover that could be closed. I really like that this one fits like a glove over that area, and it looks much better as well. It took about 10 minutes to replace the old one with the new one, putty it with plumber's putty, and install it Takes fifteen.
While this product is well made, there is one problem with it. Despite its small size and rigidity, the opening for the 30 amp plug on the underside is a problem. I would need to break the underside of mine and enlarge it so that my setup would work.
The items were not what I wanted but they were solid and well made. I ordered the wrong size but I will find another way to use.
An old 21-year-old RV had a broken part that had to be replaced. I liked how well it worked and fit me.
There isn't much excitement to be had. There is a plastic cover on top of it. However, it is exactly what it should be. There is a little door that slides up when one is there to expose the cord area so that it can still be closed. This is a nice.
The little sliding door that comes with it seals poorly and is not very heavy duty. The rest of the requirements I have for it will be satisfied.
Cable hatches are described as having a 3" cutout size, but the width of the part that needs to be inserted is only 2 1/2". The plug won't even come close to fitting my cable plug through it, as it cannot fill my trailer's 3" hole. It's a big disappointment.
