That is not the case. br>I don't see why you couldn't use an LED compatible dimmer inline with these lights; they're fantastic!
I'm not sure, but they should be able to light up an 8-foot pickup bed better than the stock lights.
There are only two wires that come out of the back or side of the device.

The lights are nice, bright, and well built, but there are a couple of issues I have right out of the box. First, these are not RV friendly lights in terms of mounting and wiring. What RV light have you ever seen with a wire coming out the side? Also, what kind of RV allows you to bolt the light on by putting bolts through the wall? Most RV lights are screwed, rather than bolted, to the trailer's side, which is probably why they come with double sided tape. Is it better to use the sticky tape or replace the bolts? For an RV replacement light, as it mentions, it's not very well thought out. Just my two cents' worth.
I mounted these on the roof rack of my truck, and now I can light up the area around it. They appeal to me greatly. On each side of the truck, I completed two. I also added rock lights, but the "porch lights" provide enough light to walk around your truck at night.
The lighting is fantastic in and of itself. The light itself, as stated in other reviews, is not a direct replacement without modification. Instead of the nuts and bolts provided, use the original screws! I was able to secure the lights with a screwdriver. However, to make it fully waterproof, the screw holes, the power cord hole once removed the way it came, and the outer part of the light, as well as older screw holes, must all be siliconed.
For use on a cargo trailer toyhauler conversion, this low-profile light is ideal. I finally rerouted the wire out the back and sealed the hole. This is how it should have come from the factory. The hole on one side is filled with a rubber plug, but I guess they assume you only need one because the wire exits the other side, which is incorrect for a surface mount light. br>br>Instead of using the included hardware, I purchased M8 stainless machine screws that were the correct size for the existing holes and attached them to the aluminum trailer skin with rivnuts. However, in order for the countersink to fit, I had to turn the heads of the screws down on the lathe. It took three holes of the correct size, a grommet in one, and rivnuts in the other two to complete the project. br>br>Overall, I'm pleased with the finished product.
On my enclosed trailer, these worked perfectly. These were originally purchased to light up the outside of my trailer at night, but because they are so bright, I only needed one. The interior of the enclosed trailer was done with the second. Good mounting hardware is included, as well as a gasket and double-sided tape.
Instead of a porch light, my RV came with a led strip along the awning, which you can't use when the awning is closed due to a design flaw. As a result, I spliced the wire and attached it to this light. I secured it to the wall with Velcro tape. It's amazing how well it's working. If you look at it directly, it will temporarily blind your eye. That is how bright it is. When using this, you won't require any additional lighting. Although I prefer bright, some people prefer cozy and may find bright to be too much for them. It satisfies my needs.
Great little light, I put two of them on the outside of my enclosed trailer for camping. I went out and bought another one for the back. My only criticism is that it isn't completely sealed on the back side and should include a plug for the opposite side. Because I ran wire straight out the back, this is where it comes out. But that wasn't a problem that a little silicone couldn't solve. The lighting is very bright and pleasant. Heavy-duty construction is used. I'd recommend them, and I'm going to buy a few more.
This is the second Mictuning product I've bought - The first item was a pair of LED lights mounted on my commercial mower with side shooters. I had a good time the last time I did Mictuning, so I decided to do it again. br>br>This set of lights is for a enclosed cargo trailer measuring 6x12. Holy cow! They're bright, and they'll give you plenty of light. The structure of the house is quite sturdy. It's just a well-made product that's simple to install. br>br>Whenever I need a 12V light, I go to Mictuning first, and I highly recommend their products.
