I have used this product for several weeks, and it's been great. Installation was easy, and I was able to do it alone, which was nice. My only wish is that I would have used The first time I read the reviews was when I went to post the one for this one and slapped my forehead. If you don't use lube, it will be hard to slide up the channels!.
An awning replacement that looks nice. I liked the look of the fabric and the color of the clothes. watched a few YouTube videos on how to perform a replacement, but I'd never done one. There was a very good suggestion as to how to attain instructions for installation, but since I am male I did not look at them until after the installation had been completed.
In my case, I decided on the method whereby the drum is completely removed from the camper and one of the end caps is removed to remove the old material from the camper and replace it with the new. My wife and I mounted the railing in one hour and 20 minutes using two ladders and some hand tools. I had rivets and a rivet gun on hand. Our end did not uncap due to tension on the spring. We used an ice pick as the pin. As far as I am concerned, I did not use any silicone spray. *Only one thing the instructions did suggest I do and I didn't was to leave the plastic protective sleeves on the rolled awning material and just slide them back into the channel after it had been slid in. Because it wouldn't have been able to unroll, it would have been easier to handle, and it would have been cleaner dragging it If you have a little experience using tools AND know someone who can help you, you won't have trouble completing the project and the awning appears to be.
The purchase has overall been a good one for me. Having an old awning that was ripped meant I had to replace it. It had been 8 years since it was manufactured. In many cases, the price of awnings out there, including the maker of my awning, can be as much as three times the cost of this one. This awning is a great value if value is important to you. I found a video online to guide me through the installation process. A general guide arrived with the awning, but I found a video online that simplified things quite a bit. When the old awning was removed, it was difficult to put the new awning on because it had become stiff and brittle over time. After it was removed, it slide effortlessly onto the rollers and rails. My old awning was too long for my roller, so I had to cut parts of the pulls before installing the new one, but I took note of the differences between the old one and the new one before I did that. The awning arrives rolled and folded in a three foot box, and mine came in a cardboard The pictures show the creases from shipment, which are evident in the pictures. They, however, started pulling flat within a short amount of time. The chances of seeing any of these folds are negligible after a few trips. Compared to my original awning, the new one has a few slight manufacturing differences. As opposed to my original awning, this one's seams are simply folded and sewn straight, as opposed to surged. In addition to a non-netted awning, my original had a louvered awning Various components that make up this awning include a stitched pull for the awning side of the roller, while the valance side of the roller is also stitched. My overall opinion is that this awning is very well made and I would buy one in the future.
As an OEM fabric user, I have avoided aftermarket fabrics in the past because I was wary of them. One of these caught my attention because it was so reasonably priced and I was very pleased with it! It fits well, the fabric is of great quality and the colors are lovely. It can be a little tricky to install, but if you take your time, one person can do it, with the assistance of a second person who is responsible for removing the awning from the RV and reinstalling it. We were very pleased with our purchases, and we just ordered another one for our bigger RV to freshen up its appearance. The product as a whole is great!.
In order to install this, you need a little effort. Following suggestions from others, I watched a few videos and it was certainly worth my time. In one shade pro video I saw two people doing it themselves and I changed it by myself. It looks good. I bought the DUNE color and it is not brilliant, but rather a muted sandy reddish brown that only shows up about half of the My plan was to get the grey, but it would require too much time for shipping Originally, it was predicted that this order would take about a week but it came within three days!.
Awnings like this are hard to find these days. The measurements were taken as indicated, and the fit was perfect. The installation process takes two steps Despite the three people that were involved, the job went well with the assistance It is a nice fabric that is thick and of a nice color. Our satisfaction with this purchase is excellent. We will definitely buy again. Considering the wide angle of the shot, the image is a little skewed.
A new awning has been ordered, and I have replaced the old one. I was able to successfully use the new one. It can be done with basic mechanical skills, but it is a bit of a challenge. You can find YouTube videos on how to do it yourself on the internet. In my case, I used the shortcut method where you drill out and grind an additional hole to prevent having to disassemble the awning support and roller completely. It worked perfectly and I saved a lot of time. Just follow along and do what it says, and you can save some money and do it yourself. I liked the quality of this product!.
My order for this is for an RV, and it arrived on time, but there is no manual, no directions, no parts. My manufacturer had to be contacted to get a parts list and an owner's manual. As a result of the lack of directions, when we took it apart, a piece we didn't realize was spring loaded broke my husband's thumb. We had to order a new metal piece as the one we were using broke at that point, costing The plus sign signifies that the item is a Despite having it installed, it doesn't look like it would be a good job to do it on your own. For your own safety, you should have it installed by a certified installer.
