Getting to all the bolts isn't hard. The only thing you need to remember is that you'll need the awning wide open to reach them all. Make sure you secure both ends of the tube and keep it from being able to move if you don't let it go all the way. The old motor will try to roll freely once it is removed, and a spring is located inside the tube to keep it in place. Make sure the motor you order fits the car properly. A choice of two connector options is available. It was the wrong one that I ordered. I was able to use the old wiring harness after cutting the wires. The only other thing you need to do is replace a few screws on the motor cover and three bolts on the motor. The whole process took an hour or so.
An external motor is the motor described in this listing. In the front of the roller tube are the motors for the geometric awning. If you are interested in finding the right motor, you must identify the model number from the awning. This number is found on the aluminum roller tube approximately 6" from the front of this awning (the aluminum tube is covered during stowage with fabric). In most cases, Dometic motors are extremely expensive (typically between $300 and $350. A $400) donation. It is not known whether there are any aftermarket motors
To cross-reference the model number, refer to the manufacturer's website. Mothers seem to be the same except for a couple of cases. Fortunately, I had success with it in my Keystone, but you have to know the make of the You can usually tell what type of guitar you are playing by seeing the initials on the cover.
It is standard for Lippert awning motor gear drive shafts to measure about 3/4 to 1 inch in diameter.

I just had to plug this in and it worked. To install the new one, remove the three bolts holding the old one on (be sure to save them you'll need them to bolt the new one on), unplug the old connections, and plug the new ones in. Make sure your fuse is put back in (you took it out before you played Here's what you do ) and you're done. I found that taking off the cover was the hardest part!.
It was $169 for the name brand motor and $71 for this one. After 10 minutes I was back in automatic mode. The motor on my Solara awning changed out easily and took about 10 minutes.
I had to cut the connector off the old motor and splice on to the new one, though I would have gone with butt splices as well. The price is half that of OEM and it works just as well as OEM. The bonus is As well as being faster, it is 25% faster than the original.
The length of time will determine how long it will take. My awning's LCI unit was 4 years old when I removed it. This unit is a perfect replacement. People were saying they only got 2 years out of the oem LCI new motors, so I didn't see much point in paying more for something that appears to be made to fail after a few years. It is because of this reason I bought the knock-off There's nothing on. The new one is as quiet as the old one and.
The system is working, but it also seems to be very He seems to struggle to open and close the I believe a 12VDC motor is able to handle this job without any problems. It doesn't make sense that someone doesn't make one with an extra few watts. It is likely that there would be less strain on the assembly, making it last You can go there confident that all connections have been tested and are strong. In addition, I made sure that all pivot points were lubricated thoroughly. He continues to struggle and is.
I am so pleased with my new awning. It looks great and works well. The new style of wire connector on (like a quick charge battery charger) needed to be rewired, but it was not difficult.
You can use the factory plug of the old motor to create a pigtail in order to maintain.
I found the connector to be different than mine but it was easy to splice. It worked fine and fit perfectly. I used it a few times but so far it seems great and has solved my awning problem.
