I couldn't believe how easy it was to complete the installation. The vertical center bar just needed to be removed from the screen door by removing the "nails" that held it in place. As soon as the old pieces popped out, the new ones popped right in. There was an exact match between my original design and the sliding door. It took about two inches more space than I needed on the stationary piece (on the right side). My old piece was a template for the new one, so I positioned it over the old. The new piece of plywood was scored on both sides by means of a basic blade.
