A slot is cut into the screen door so the micky mouse ear fits in perfectly. To install on my coach, I had to remove one of the handles (not a big deal because it comes off in a plastic hinge) and then remove all the screws holding the whole To slide the micky mouse ears, attach the skinny end first, then insert the micky mouse ears until they touch the door. You carefully reassemble and cut the latch to fit, then file the end of it, and finally difficult to imagine making this part any harder to install than it already is, but that depends on Monaco, not the part. You probably need this latch if you have a latch that looks almost exactly like the pictures of this latch. If your latch looks exactly like these photos, then this is almost certainly the right part. I don't think anything else is exactly like this latch.
I found it to be the perfect match. Installing it is simple, using just a few screws and the screen spline can be removed and replaced. It would be useful if there were a note or simple instructions that explain the spline's connection to the screen. read the previous review and understood that this was the next In an uninformed person, it may be easy to remove unnecessary screws and have problems installing it. The majority of other features are good, although I'm slightly disappointed with the price. The door latch is listed as a Winnebago part, but should work on any RV with a similar.
This is the exact replacement screen door I need for my RV. The initial operation was a little stiff, but liberal dosing with spray silicone helped get rid of that problem. To ensure that it runs through the tube, I recommend that it be sprayed internally with silicone prior to installation. In the event that the liquid carrier evaporates and the silicone is left dry, it operates just fine.
A screen door on a motorhome is opened and closed with the help of this stock replacement part. Apparently the striker, which consists of a small plastic piece, is the weakest part. When you break this small piece, the latch has to be replaced. The batteries do last several years, so we should not be too harsh on them.
These were so much better than what we'd been dealing with at Rv stores. This is something my husband can do, and I am grateful for that. There is no limit to what you can do. It was such a great experience.
My name is Richard. My door was fixed with just what I needed. If instructions had been provided, I would have given it five stars. The original (broken) one was attached to the screen with spline, and it took me about 15 minutes to figure this out.
Instructions would have been nice if this had come with them. The install is not level 1 at all, but it is still easy. It is exactly what I was looking for.
