This was also a problem for me, and any wind greater than 7 mph made the tie down unstable. Mine is no longer in use by me.
The length of the straps is 12 feet.
We use our tie downs in sustained winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph as long as there is some sort of wind break.
Two screw-in anchors and a metal ring are included in the kit. Screw the anchor into the ground, then hook the strap to the metal ring with the hook on the end of the strap. Thanks

This company does not inform you of everything you need to know, and neither does the item description, as it cannot be used on all awnings. I contacted the company or the seller about my application before I used it, and they said it would work, which it did not, as you can see from my attached photos, and I contacted them right away after it happened, knowing what they were going to say before I called them, but this is what they said: (You must have had a gust of wind come up, and we don't warranty anything- however, powerful products ) However, I had it secured down better than their anchors, so be careful what you put this awning product on and check it out to the point where you might want to contact someone who knows about engineering and metal strength, because there are weak points in metals and the way they are designed or built, and I simply didn't do my homework on what applications this product really works on. All I want to do is sell something and make a profit.
Its stability would most likely be improved with the addition of a duty spring. I would have given it five stars if it hadn't been clearly misplaced and there were no instructions or diagrams to confirm installation. Apart from that, I haven't had to close my awning due to the several high winds that have passed through this area since I got it a month ago. There has only been a minor snafu on one end, but this tie-in is still going strong. The down kit is far superior to the string tie down I was previously using, which needed to be tightened on a daily basis.
I did a dry run in my yard with the camper and it appears to be a fantastic product: simple to attach and set, good quality parts that even I could figure out! Unless something changes during my trip, in which case I'll be sure to update this review, I'd strongly recommend this product to anyone looking for something similar.
I understand she's going steady, but I've used a variety of awning tie downs and had been using ratchet straps until I discovered these. They're designed to fit over your awning barrel and don't look as ridiculous as a ratchet binder. The only thing I would have liked were some springs to allow for a little more movement, but I'm using some from another tie down. Overall, it's a good product that's simple to set up and take down. So far, everything seems to be going well, and she's holding up well.
This is a wonderful tie-down kit. I used it to camp last week and it does a great job of keeping the awning in place. It prevents awning damage by preventing the awning from shaking the camper.
The fact that it's made in the United States of America is appealing to me. That is the primary reason I chose it over others. I wish the straps were a little longer, but everything else appears to be in good working order.
We don't use screw-in anchors; instead, we use metal stakes, but they give us peace of mind that our awning will not be blown off our motorhome by the wind.
We have an older camper with a temperamental awning, which we tried to attach these to and it didn't move at all. On our most recent trip, we were able to make use of our awning. It took some time to figure out how to tighten the strap, but once we did, it worked perfectly.
