As a perfect replacement for my Lippert Solera Power Awning motor, this item was the perfect choice. In the Lippert instruction video, it is suggested you extend the awning one foot, then use zip ties to hold both ends in place. It is recommended you do that on both ends. I was able to unravel the entire thing once I disconnected the motor shaft from the awning. It was easy to wind this back up again by simply using a vice grip at the end (where the set screw goes). You may find that the fabric gets a little crinkly after first retraction/extension with the new motor, but it will straighten out eventually. It is a good idea to put a brace up to hold the awning after it is detached. It was my telescoping ladder that I used.

We are fortunate that Amazon takes care of all our needs. I had no issues with it bolting up. The canopy will now get back into motion when that switch is pressed. Amazon shipped this product in an airtight plastic bag, with no hardware (so keep the old bolts), and it would be helpful if you added a little grease to the gears while you had it apart.
