A 3016-based system was installed by me In my 2014 Silverado, I just installed a wiring harness that works perfectly. I had no trouble installing it.
The factory pigtail provided with your vehicle will need to be used in conjunction with the Tekonsha wiring harness to make the connection (it plugs into the panel under the dash). A splice will be created between the two. The overall length of the sculpture is six feet.
I tested it on a 2017 Tahoe and it worked. These are the same things, so I would assume they are.

I bought this cable for my 2016 Silverado when I decided to replace my Hopkins brake controller with a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 brake controller. The Hopkins wire harness had to be physically connected to a factory harness that was then plugged into a lug under the dash, which I had to do when I first Wired the Hopkins. Unfortunately, I had trouble getting more information from Hopkins about what each wire is for since the factory descriptions did not reflect what the Instruction manual for the Hopkins controller said it should do, so I had to contact customer support to ask more questions. As a result, this time I purchased this harness that already takes care of that issue, so I didn't have to worry about it this time. I would have preferred a harness that was 6 inches longer as I had to extend the cable for the harness to reach the location where I wanted my controller mounted however, I am satisfied with the current price. It can't be kicked with my feet so I should keep it in the dash where I can't get at it. In most cases the installation is fairly straightforward once the harness has been extended.
I read the description of the product and it said that it would fit my truck, even though Amazon said otherwise. The harness I purchased here is the right one for 2017 Chevrolet Silverado models, and my truck worked flawlessly. A thick nylon braid is wrapped around the heavy duty wiring. I found this to be of excellent quality and it was a direct fit for my Silverado as well as the Tekonsha P3 brake box.
The wire harness for my '15 Silverado plugged right into the panel under the dashboard and worked just fine. This harness is a quality product, and when installed, it looks as good as (or better than) the factory wiring underneath the dashboard. Using this harness makes brake controllers a plug-and-play item, and it's so much easier than using the Chevrolet wiring harness. A brake controller should come standard with a truck which should have come with a brake controller, so this accessory is a must-have!.
You need to know It is well made and does not require any splicing. I used this to mount my Tekonsha P3 to the right of the steering column on my 2016 Silverado. It was a perfect fit. It shaves seconds off the hookup time by avoiding splicing and providing a quick connection. The P3 comes with a pigtail and connector, but I got this cable to avoid splicing and complete the hookup in It did not require any tools other than removing the cover of the connection box on the Silverado (I used a screw driver).
This wire is extremely high quality, it is sleeved so you won't have to worry about cuts or abrasion, and the connection to the OEM socket and brake controller is highly secure. When there are so many available and affordable options, cutting and splicing would not even occur to me.
Wire for the trailer brakes in this adapter is of a heavier gauge than those in other adapters, and it is wrapped in a mesh loom so that it can be traced but be Plugs fit the GMC and Tekonsha fittings, as you might expect. If you don't get too carried away routing it under the dash, it is just the right length. The trailer hitch adapter made life a lot simpler than trying to juggle the pigtails supplied with the Tekonsha P2 and the 2014 GMC truck as part of This is an item of professional quality.
My 2018 Silverado is equipped with this. We mounted the device right behind the steering wheel, and the fuse box was right there. My trailer was attached, I numbered it #1 in the unit, and I adjusted the push button to adjust the brakes. This is so much easier than adjusting the brakes with the wheel that came with it. It is a product I would recommend to anyone in need of a trailer brake.
Install was clean and easy which is worth paying six dollars more to get both ends preterminated even though the truck came with a pigtail on the truck side. You simply remove the fuse cover, thread the harness to the main wiring connectors under the dash plug into the controller and then into the slot on the truck side, apply double stick tape, and snap on the fuse cover. Neither splicing nor editing has taken place. Easy to understand.
