Questions & Answers

What is the inside of the device like? Is there a female receptacle?

receptacle, there are three screw tabs (ground, neutral, and power) that are used to connect a three wire power cord. The power cord can then be run to an inside receptacle/s or to an inside power panel/fuse box.

The amp rating is given for what reason? Doesn't it just take power to power up and power to power down?

15 amps is the maximum power provided by the unit Wattage 1800 watts. Having it run at any higher voltage or current would overstress the unit and cause a fire. I installed this unit in our RV as a backup power source to run a 12V battery. The following voltage is 5 amps A ceramic heater with a 1500 watt capacity. To work with this extension cord, I use one rated at 20 amps.

Can you tell me how deep the unit is? The RV wall must be at least 2" deep. I'm not sure why the dimensions are so I think they're for the box that ?

Approximately 2 square feet of space are occupied. Wire is not allowed to extend out the back of the mounting flange, which is 5 inches beyond the mounting flange. There is no way it would fit in a 2 inch thick It had another purpose for which I bought it.

Can you tell me what the UL environmental rating is? Is it kind of a 3rd?

You are doing a very good job. That was the fifth I bought, and the best I have ever owned.

It is extremely convenient to be able to use it with an The inlet is very nice
5/5

The router table I had at the time was a breadbox. If I use this socket, I can manage power to my router without having to open the router table. I can control the router power without having to open the router table. It was very easy to install and hook up power with any extension cord.
The wood was 3/4" thick, so installation was super easy. I really appreciate the other reviewers who pointed out that we should have a 1-star rating This hole saw is 7/8 inches long. In my case, I used the following citation.

Except for this, the inlet seems to work well
4/5

There are no problems with the quality and it is relatively easy to use. A power outlet connected to this router table cabinet was used. This is the extension I installed from the The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the fact that the grounding prong was a little on the large side and it was a little difficult It can be difficult to plug some extensions into this inlet due to the grounding prong however, some plug in just right. Except for this, the inlet seems to work well. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and how easy it was to wire up and install. It comes with a gasket to prevent water from getting in. You can mount it in two different ways. If you want to mount the inlet from the back, you can use the nut that surrounds the back of the inlet. The cap further improves the water-proofing, but I did not use it since I did not have the need to waterproof this inlet. There is a very clear color-coding indicating hot, neutral, and ground, and the wiring is very secure once it is implemented and run through the boot on the back of the inlet. I would recommend ordering this item if you plan to buy it. In addition to that, I would need to order a 1 7/8-inch drill bit at the same time, since that is the size As I mounted this to wood with a 1 7/8 forestner bit, I used a bit that was suitable for mounting to wood, but you can use any 1 7/8 bit you like for whatever material you are mounting it to.

The quality is nice, it is easy to install, and it is durable
4/5

A power inlet of this quality was very pleasing to me. Wire terminations accept wire quite a bit which means you can tighten quite a bit without worrying about the connection. The holesaw diameter was similar to typical market holesaw sizes. That was really well done, it's hard to find quality like this these days, but I must say that this was produced You impressed me. Specifically in regard to the inlet, it is able to accept commonly used extension cord plug ends without any hindrance and I can insert the plug end right inside the inlet so there is a snug My fiberglass material around the edge of the hole in my camper's side wall fell out when I drilled, so I had to put in a few more holes on the face of the outlet ring to allow for more plugs to be utilized The outlet is simply attached with rivets to ensure it does not come unattached from the wall of the camper. As you can see from the pictures, the rubberized seal on the rear of the outlet does an excellent job of sealing around the cord sheathing that leaves the back.

This is the perfect addition to an RV to provide auxiliary heat and air
5/5

Using this controller we can run an electric heater in cool weather and run an additional air conditioner in the summer without bringing the breaker to a halt. Lenox Tools 1772778-1 was used to install the product and it took only about 20 minutes to do so. I am 7/8 A 30A bi-directional inch From Amazon, you can also get a Metal Speed Slot Arbored Hole Saw. In stores, you are very unlikely to find this diameter hole saw, so I would recommend you purchase it at the same time as cut out a hole for the wall outlet and installed it, used the hole saw to cut out the 1 7/8" hole for the power inlet, (3) installed romex between the inlet and outlet, and (4) verified polarity. In addition to the 9000 btu portable air conditioner, the additional cooling in the RV was greatly appreciated. I have made this modification to all of the RVs we have owned. It is the best, most versatile modification I have made ever.

Inlet for power (for marine applications)
5/5

I was pleased with the product, and it arrived on time This has been the case for some time. My purchase of this item was for the purpose of supplying 120/115v power to a Cabin Cruiser restoration project. This product meets the requirements. With the included flip cover, this item can be used in marine applications, and the same cover can also be used as a highly water-resistant seal between the surface of the mounting base and the power supply. During our time at sea we had heavy rain during our arrival at the port. In any case, I did give it a bit of sealing compound for safety's sake. Compared to the previous version, the electrical prongs are a lot stronger It should be used for many years to come, as it does a better job than others I've seen. The lifespan of the boat might be a factor. I was concerned about how the wire would connect to this product before I purchased it, which was one of my questions before buying it. Thus, let me describe the situation as I see it In reality, the black bit you see at the rear of the plug housing, which you see is a protective rubber shroud with a small hole at one end of which you can insert three 12AWG wires quite snugly. In order to fit this rubber black housing back over the rear of the unit, it needs to be very tight. It will NOT be necessary to tape or wire-nut the wires. Each color represents a different element of the design The terminals are color-coded, and the wire is inserted into the terminal by simply inserting it into the correct color The hole has been coded and a phillips head screw has been used The driver is simple to use, it just needs to be turned a few times and it will secure itself to the wire quite well. Despite this, I applied a bit of liquid electrical paste to the connections in order to prevent corrosion. This product is highly recommended for use outdoors, and it should perform well in any setting.
