Questions & Answers

I went to the irv technology website and saw this unit, but next to the usb port, it shows a port for a SD card. Does this one have a sd card port?

Yes, it has a slot for SD cards.

Is there a HDMI port on this unit?

Yes, it's on the back of the unit, as I recall, so you'll have to wire it out of any cabinet it's in. Because I already had an RCA plug in my trailer, I simply used the unit's yellow component output for the dvd tv picture and the unit's sound system.

Will this system be able to take the place of my QX 3202?

I looked up qx 3202 manual on the internet, and they appear to be the same thing. The output power of the Irv is higher. I've stopped using the IrV and replaced the entire system with components since I bought it. The inputs and outputs make no sense and do not match the manual information, so getting the Irv to play any DVD was nearly impossible. "Wrong Zone" error messages, etc. The majority of the in/out connections, as well as how to use them, are not covered in the user manual. When I was able to get the IRv to work, it sounded great on the am/fm/bt/aux inputs. Best of luck to you.

Is this compatible with a Samsung Galaxy S7 Android phone so that I can listen to Pandora on it?

Yes, it's a Bluetooth device.

So far, I've been completely satisfied
5/5

This review is based on my initial impressions and use of the product, and I will update it if I discover any flaws. Like many other RV owners, I was given a Genesis GT-X. I was never able to obtain the GT 2, which is, in my opinion, a truly terrible product. The video output was composite, not HDMI, and it was used to read a DVD. As a result, I've given up on the GT- 0 and replaced it with the iRV34. It's marketed as a direct replacement, and that's exactly what it is. I literally took it out of the box and untangled all of the wires from my old GT-1000. 0 and connected them to the iRV34, which took less than 5 minutes to set up. Using the existing composite cables, it worked right away. I then connected one of the two ports on the irV34 to the HDMI port on the television with an HDMI cable and had a working unit right away, so I tossed the composite cables. The unit has two HDMI output and two HDMI input ports on the back, as well as an HDMI input port on the front, allowing you to connect players to any of them. I didn't have enough time to test everything on the unit, but it all functioned properly. My phone, DVD player, and radio all worked fine with Bluetooth, but I didn't have an SD card or USB drive to test them out, nor did I have an SD card or USB drive to have the television sound routed through the iRV34 to the RV speakers. I readily endorse this product based on what I've seen so far, and the Amazon price is about a third less than what I would have paid at the RV online dealer where I found other reviews that gave me the confidence to purchase it.

It works as a direct replacement for the iRV33 and previous models
4/5

for now. br>br>The likelihood of this lasting a long time is slim. Our 2016 Keystone Outback RV's IRV33 died after just two years (and was still under warranty). We were on the verge of losing a DVD in the old unit when the power went out completely. We were able to apply 12V and coax the DVD out only after disassembling the unit. If you're not as tenacious as I am, eject discs after each use or risk losing them. br>br>The difference between this and the iRV33 is that, contrary to a previous rating, it only has one rear HDMI input and one output. Pay close attention to the details. We purchased the iRV34 based on the review, but this would not have changed our minds. br>br>On the failed iRV33, the manufacturer's service and support were non-existent. existent, and to be honest, we're not expecting much better if this one fails. Similarly, the RV manufacturer and selling dealer were only interested in replacing the unit for $500. With that price point in mind, the online price and ease of replacement are two of the few positive aspects of this unit. The unit claims to be surrounded by 2. 1 However, additional wiring and speakers would be required. br>br>The Bluetooth connection is unreliable and inconvenient. Some devices will work with Bluetooth, while others will not, regardless of Bluetooth version. The directions are ambiguous. We haven't tried the purported APP control, but we have tried connecting as you would with any other device. br>br>We considered other Amazon-sold brands, but they would have required rewiring and lacked rear-mounted HDMI input/outputs, so we went with the direct fit and the best extended warranty (4 years). It was a safe bet that it would be replaced based on our experience and online reviews of the iRV units. An extended warranty is something I rarely purchase. br>br>Perhaps Jensen or Pyle will release a direct replacement unit with HDMI and Blu-ray in the near future (the iRV wiring harness is common to early generation integrated RV stereos). Ray. If you're paying attention, there are a lot of these out there that are begging for a better/stronger amplifier, blu-ray player. ray, multiple HDMI in/out, and a straightforward, user-friendly remote. Until then, or until I'm motivated enough to rewire and make an adapter panel, I'll be relying on the extended warranty to cover me.

The iRV34 has been replaced, and the performance has improved significantly
5/5

Very let down. Installed in RV to improve sound quality as a replacement. While the sound quality has vastly improved, the DVD player is still unable to read the vast majority of DVDs that the old system could. DVDs have already been cleaned and tested in other devices, and the DVDs have worked flawlessly in those devices. When you try to play these DVDs, the screen says "This Player is incompatible with this disc's region marking. " And it appears that this is only sporadic, as it reads and plays some DVDs from the same producer and manufacturer right away. Unfortunately, if the unit is functioning properly, it was a waste of money, and a replacement may not be possible. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. I've completed the initial return steps and process to Amazon and will be receiving a new one after receiving a very prompt response from QAV Division of Patrick Industries confirming the unit is defective and advising me to return it. The supplier's and Amazon's responses were both very impressive. I've updated the stars to reflect this, and I'll do so again once the new unit has been received and tested. Moreover, given how new this unit is, it's difficult to understand why it's not designed to play Blu Ray. br>br>After receiving a replacement unit, I'm very pleased with its operation and video and sound quality in our RV. Thank you for your prompt response from the supplier and Amazon in the receipt and return process to obtain a replacement unit. The setup was simple, and the operating procedures were straightforward. We added another Blu Ray player to handle Blu Ray discs, and running the TV sound through the iRV34 provides good quality sound when using that player.
