Questions & Answers
There are two locking mechanisms on the female end after insertion, the plugs have to be twisted and there is a screw ring that's used to grip the plug firmly. A perfect mating connection must exist between the RV and the mat
There are copper strands on the tape. Even in the cold weather we have been experiencing, the cord is flexible.
The advertisement portrays a 30 amp to 15 amp adapter that does not come with the item. The fact that it was pictured led me to think that it did. There was no way it could ever fit in there.
Coiling of most cords occurs easily if they are heated to the proper temperature.

RV is purchased to replace the Furrion cord. I used it once to test it and it appeared to be working fine. I overheated the Furrion cord on my last trip and it melted around the plug pin. One of the plug connectors has been damaged as well. The real problem might have been with the old wiring in the state park. I have never had a problem with updated campground wiring before. I also went through a surge protector (truly, that is what breakers are for, and they tripped during use. The new RV cord seems a little pricey, but everything is now overpriced. I found the connection ring to be a bit cheap but they all seem to be the same. I used it to test while the AC was running and it was not as hot as the campsite.
This is a straightforward, well-done article We built an RV power cord that can handle 30 amps. The current furrion that I own is 30 feet long I wanted a longer option that I wouldn't have to use extensions for. Compared with other options, I do not believe you can beat this one. Because of its smaller "finger hole" on the outlet and because of its ability to fit perfectly into my search protector, as you can see in the pictures, I really like it.
The green power LED on the cord is located at 3 o'clock when attached to the twist lock socket I have, but it seems to work otherwise. A 15 amp converter is oriented so that the cable would need to face upwards in order to connect to a traditional outlet. I find the outdoor grade cover doesn't get far enough out of the way for that orientation to work at my house at least. Due to the fact that most outdoor outlets are similar, the converter is of limited use without an additional regular extension cord.
The cord we used to hook up to the house was very long. We were very impressed with the cord's heavy duty and durability. Also, we must be able to see it at a glance whether it is working if it has an indicator. However, the male end of the plug is too large, and the outdoor electric box will not close. This is what previous reviews have mentioned. This means that a drop down adapter could also prove useful. We knew this in advance from previous reviews and would have designated 5 stars if the item fit into the electric box. This cord is awesome!.
Our trailer's cord is shorter and lighter than the one that came with our trailer and is typically plenty long enough to reach the trailer.
The price is excellent especially for a cord that is so well made! We needed one for our RV and for some reason every store we went to didn't have any cords like this one or even an adapter to make it work with cords that they were selling in-store. I have connected this cord to power our generator and to shore power and it has worked as it should. It is a sturdy cable that has a locking ring, which was just what we were looking for. I would recommend this cable because of its quality and value.
It's very well made, but a bit heavy / that's a good thing though because it means the conductors and the resistance are adequate.
