Questions & Answers

Is it comparable to Dicor in terms of quality?

This is fantastic. I have a 30' toy hauler that I've never used Dicor on. I was able to get three coats out of three gallons of paint, with some left over. Begin by scrubbing your roof clean.

How much coverage per gallon do you have?

I have a 26-foot camper that I used for the first time. I would definitely recommend two coats of 1/2 gallon paint because it goes on thin.

Is Hengs Roof Coat suitable for a previously coated rubber roof?

Yes, this product can be used on a rubber roof that has been previously coated. Before applying the coating, make sure the roof is clean and free of dirt, oils, and grease. a hose and a degreasing/cleaning agent are recommended - I used Dawn dish soap and a brush, but other options include Tide powder. Both should clean your house adequately. Heng's has excellent adhesion to a wide variety of surfaces, so you should be fine.

Is it possible to confirm that this material is white?

This product was used on the roof of my RV. The coating is bright white, and I applied it to the roof with a roller. The finish was fairly smooth, but not slick and slippery. It stands the test of time. In fact, I just used a floorbrush and a bleach-soap-water solution to clean my rooftop. It was easy to clean, and the coating stayed put for a year. Because this coating exfoliates like rubber roof material, the RV stayed cleaner with very few dirty black streaks from normal dirt. I rolled the coating, let it dry, and then went back to reseal a few spots with butyl caulk. The end result pleases me.

Amazing Results from an Outstanding Product
5/5

I did a lot of research before buying this product, and I've completely re-written it. I'd previously roofed two RVs, so this was the first time I only had to re-roof one. coat one. Because I have a 40' pusher, I decided on 3 gallons based on other reviews. They arrived quickly, but each of the three cans was damaged during transit. No worries, the cans are sealed with a plastic ring that won't come off without a lot of effort. I started by pressure washing my RV as clean as possible at a car wash that has an RV bay. After that, I replaced all of my vents and removed all of the old lap sealant. I then used Simple Green and water to clean the roof once more by hand. I used Eternabond tape to seal all straight and squared edges, and new lap sealant around the plumbing vent, satellite, and antenna, based on previous experience. I wiped down the roof one last time to remove any remaining debris and taped drop cloths around the edge of the RV as a final step in the process. I began by rolling the edges with a 3" roller with a 1/2" nap on a disposable paint tray. Heng's has a consistency that is almost identical to latex paint, making it very easy to apply. After that, I switched to a standard 9" roller and completed the first coat, which took about 1 1/2 gallons. You can see a small amount of black showing through after the first coat if you look closely at the photos. I let it dry overnight before returning the next day to apply a second coat, which required another gallon of paint. As you can see from the photos, it came out beautifully. After everything was said and done, I had about a quarter gallon left. It took me about three hours to prepare everything. It took 4 hours to apply the product, and it took about 1 hour to apply the product. The first coat took 5 hours to apply, and the second coat took 45 minutes. I simply cannot express how pleased I am with this product; it far exceeded my expectations. Don't put it off any longer if you're procrastinating like I was.

17 ONE YEAR LATER, STILL PERFECTLY HOLDING UP TO THE SOUTH FLORIDA SUN! br>br>THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE ORANGE CAN ONLY, NOT THE BLUE CAN. I didn't buy it because Prime wasn't an option, and I found a better deal on eBay. If, like me, you've been dreading the task of replacing the "white" on your Motor Coach's rubber roof (from the year 2000), today is your lucky day! I've been looking at a variety of products and was almost sold on the $500 product that includes all sorts of prep work and possibly primer, as well as a 7-day dry time. yikes! I've been putting it off for two years, and now there are numerous black spots on my roof, and the interior of the coach has been noticeably heating up, forcing the air conditioners to work overtime in the Florida heat. So I went out and bought it and just followed the instructions. I went up to the roof with a 5 gallon pail, garden hose, car wash brush, and hand held scrub brush and removed as much loose white as I could, including the little round dark mold spots? They took a shower and scrubbed themselves clean. When I was finished (about 2 hours), I had a roof that was half black and half white. The next day, I applied the HENGS, which was similar to exterior latex house paint but a little thicker. For the edges, skylights, vents, and AC units, I used a brush. It was a hot, sunny day, and I was able to finish some touch-up work (barefoot) in about 2 hours; previously, it was impossible to be up there in bare feet because it was so hot! So I finished with 1 3/4 gallons. I'm going to buy another gallon and use the 1 1/4 gallon to cover up some weak spots, but 1 3/4 gallons did an amazing job on a mostly black 38 foot roof! I've been back up, barefoot and all, after a week of baking in the sun. It looks amazing because there are no bubbles and nothing is loose. So far, I've been very impressed, to the point where I've taken the time to write this review in the hopes of easing the mind of someone else contemplating what you think will be a massive task. It was extremely simple, and I estimate that my next coat will take about 45 minutes to complete. Total time (approximately) 2 hours prep, 1 1/2 hours rolling and painting.

It was an excellent solution
5/5

My husband had been doing so much research on rv roof coatings that it was driving me insane! A local RV store, I believe, recommended this. The importance of preparation cannot be overstated. 303 protectant has always been used on roof and window seals by my husband. It's fantastic material, but he didn't show it this year. None of it should have been left on the rubber roof. Also, on two separate days, he cleaned the roof with dawn in water and a scrub brush while on his hands and knees; Allow to air dry after thorough rinsing. It is necessary to remove all oil from the area. He used a paint brush to paint the edges and rolled the rest, then let it dry for two days before applying another coat with a brush. That was more appealing to him. He was extremely pleased with the outcome, despite the fact that he is a very picky individual. He assumed it would be a simple task that could be completed by one person. Our fifth wheel/rooftop is 20 years old and in excellent condition. It was certainly less expensive than installing a new rubber roof (which can cost thousands of dollars). On a 27-foot RV, two coats were applied, with three coats applied to the edges, vents, and around the edges of the skylights. a half gallon It's been there for a few months and appears to be in good working order. The only way to know is to wait and see. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them.
