Questions & Answers

This is on par with Dicor, isn't it?

I am very impressed with this stuff. I have a 30' trailer that I haul toys in. I haven't used Dicor before. A gallon of paint gave me three coats, and I had enough left over to paint a fourth. Keeping your roof clean is the first step.

Approximately how many gallons of coverage does one gallon provide?

Originally I bought a 26-foot travel trailer to use as a one-person camper Half a gallon should be enough to put down two coats, it goes on thin, and it is definitely worth two

How long does Hengs Roof Coat last on a rubber roof that has been ?

If the roof has previously been coated with rubber, then this product should work well. Before applying the roof coating, make sure each surface has been cleaned thoroughly of all dirt, oil, and grease. The hose should be provided and the cleaning/degreasing agent should be used. It was Dawn dish liquid and a brush and I used a brush, but Tide powder may work better for some. You should be able to get satisfactory cleaning results with both methods. The Heng's product has excellent adhesion to a wide range of surfaces, so there should be no problems.

Do you know if it is white, or if it has a different color?

Using this product on my RV roof has been very useful. As I was applying the coating to the roof, I used a roller. It was bright white. It had a smooth finish but not one that was slippery. You can rely on it for a long time. As a matter of fact, I just cleaned my rooftop with a floor brush and a mix of bleach, soap, and water. The coating didn't lift after a year when it was applied, and it was easy to clean. The coating is probably similar to rubber roof material in that it exfoliates, so there are no black mats from dirt or oil. We rolled the coating on, let it dry, and then applied the butyl caulk to reseal the spots. It was a good result for me.

The product is outstanding and delivers amazing results

It took me a long time to purchase this product, so I thoroughly re-examined it before buying The first time I just needed to replace the roof on my RV was the second time I roofed two RV's previously I will put on the first coat. Using other reviews, I determined that I required 3 gallons of fuel for my 40' pusher. Despite having arrived quickly, each of the three cans was damaged during shipment. It doesn't matter that the cans are sealed as they're going to be tough to remove without serious effort. I started by taking my RV to a car wash with an RV bay and pressure washing it as much As a next step, I removed all the old lap sealant from all my vents and replaced them all with new ones. After cleaning the roof by hand with Simple Green and water, I cleaned it one final time by machine. My previous experience dictated that I used Eternabond tape to seal all edges of the plumbing vent, satellite dish, and antenna, and I applied new lap sealant around the plumbing vent and satellite dish. I prepared for the job by wiping down the roof one final time to get rid of any remaining dust and taped drop cloths all Starting out by rolling the edges with a 3" roller with a 1/2" nap on a disposable paint tray, I used a disposable paint tray. Hanges is almost as smooth and pliable as latex paint, so it has a very smooth, creamy consistency. The first coat of the project, which required about 1 1/2 gallons, was then finished with a standard 9" roller. Upon closer examination of the pictures, you can see that after the first coat, there is a small amount of black showing through. It took me an additional gallon plus to add the second coat the following day after it had dried overnight. From the pictures, you can see how gorgeous it turned out. When all was said and done, I had about 1/4 of a gallon left over. A total of three hours may have been spent preparing It took approximately one hour to apply the product and 4 hours to apply the product. It will take 5 hours to apply the first coat, and 45 minutes to apply the second coat. There are not enough positive things I can say about this product, it exceeded my expectations more than I ever expected. It's not too late to finish what you've been putting off.

One year later, this hat is still tack-tack to the south Florida sun. This review is applicable only to the orange tin, not the blue can. This item was not purchased here since Prime was not available, so I found a better deal on eBay. Nonetheless, if you have been dreading the task of replacing the rubber roof on your Motor Coach (year 2000) due to the "white" color, we have the fix for you. In researching the situation, I almost chose the $500 product to apply 5 gallons of paint and deal with all the prep work and possibly prime not to mention the 7-day drying time. I hate it! In the heated FL sun, my coach has been heating up outside and the interior has been getting very hot. I have procrastinated for two years, but now I have many black spots on my roof and the AC's are working overtime in the heat. As a result, I bought it and followed the instructions to the letter. We bought powdered laundry detergent and got for the roof with a five gallon pail, garden hose, a car wash brush, and a hand scrub brush. We went to town getting rid of all the loose white, including the small It took them a long time to scrub off the dirt. It took me about 2 hours to finish (I had half a black roof and half a white roof). As I rolled on the HENGS the following day, I found it to be no different from exterior latex house paint, maybe just a little In addition to brushes, I used a roller for the edges and around the AC units and skylights. During a sunny day, I was able to do my touch up in about 2 hours (bare feet). The roof is now cool in bare feet bare feet before were impossible, due to the extreme heat! In the end, I used 1 3/4 gallons. A gallon will be added to my 1 1/4 gallon and I will apply it to cover some weak spots on my mostly black 38-foot roof, but I am impressed by the work 1 3/4 gallons did! My legs have been baking in the sun for the past week and I've been up barefoot. Nothing is loose, nothing is bubbled up, everything is perfectly smooth. It has been very impressive so far, so much so that I took the time to write this review to help ease the minds of others contemplating what they think is going to be a daunting task. The process was smooth and easy, and I predict it will only take me about 45 minutes to complete my next coat. 2 hours prep time and 1 1/2 hours of rolling and painting total (approx. ).

I liked it a lot

I was getting so frustrated with my husband because he had been researching rv roof coatings so much! The RV store near where I live recommended it to me. A lot of preparation goes into the process. 303 Protectant has always been used on our roof and window seals by my husband. He didn't put any out this year, which is a shame. We didn't want any of it still on the A scrub brush was used on his hands and knees on two separate occasions to clean the roof in water using dawn in water After thorough rinsing and drying, rinsed again. It is imperative that oil be removed entirely. A paint brush was used to paint the edges, and a roller was used for the rest. He let the paint dry two days, then did a second This was a better option for him. His results were great, since he is such a picky guy. His conception was that it was an easy job and that it could be accomplished with one person. The roof and fifth wheel we have are 20 years old and in terrific condition. We saved a lot more than installing a brand-new rubber roof (thousands of dollars). It took one coat on the 27 foot rv and three coats around the edges of the skylights, vents, and around the vents. It has a volume of half a I have been using it on there for a couple months and it is working as it should. We'll see how things turn out in time. Whether you want to ask questions or not is up to you.
