It is true. It also needs to be used in conjunction with engine mounts made of polyurethane. Before switching to these engine/transmission mounts, I had gone through three different sets of stock mounts. Since then, I haven't had a problem.

Those mounts also work on NP 203 and 205 both auto and manual I have 6 sets in 6 different trucks, hope that helps with the 77 4spd 4x4 I just had them put in I hope that helps you.

The crossmember needed to be modified. Unlike the old rubber mounts, the new rubber mounts are thinner, narrower, and smaller.

I just recently installed an 8. x version of CUCV on these, and I bought them to use with it. This is a "1/4L80e combo". I'll recommend them over OEM mounts because they tend to last longer. Energy suspension is a product I have used in the past and can only recommend it. You're doing a great job.
