In addition, a low-friction CV grease designed specifically for high RPM joints like the JK version is also included.

Box dimensions are 9" long by 5" wide by 5" high.

Questions & Answers

On a 3 card, this rzeppa would be good. Do you need exhaust spacers if your JK is lifted 5" and has a stock front drive shaft? Vibrations from the driveshaft when it is moving at high speed?

It's true that spacers are needed. Despite having their spacers on mine and the same lift height, my driveshaft will still come into contact with the exhaust when fully extended. It makes no difference whether I compare the stock shaft with the Tom Woods shaft, since none of these cause vibration. The 5.0.2 version is also running on my machine. With 13 gears, my driveshaft spins much faster than a stock shaft. Thank you. I hope this was helpful.

Can you tell me how much angle these joints can work at?

As I lift my JK, I'll use number The diameter of the tubing is 25"-33" Everything seems to be working

The vibration I experience after raising my 08 jk 2 is typical. Duratracs with a diameter of 5" and 33". Could you please let me know if there's anything else I need to do?

The "usual" vibrations don't affect me at all, because I'm raised I experienced no vibrations on 37" BFG KO2s or 5 1/2" MECs. In order to lift the boot, the rear joint on the front shaft splits. Teraflex joints are an easy and simple way to upgrade your equipment. There is no need to add anything else.

What is the compatibility of this kit with the Jeep Cherokee JL 18+?

You can reach Teraflex by phone. There is no doubt about it. It's best not to change your current CV joint(s) just to change it unless your current joint is already blown or blocking full articulation. You should wear your factory one

The product is of high quality and is not difficult Originally I had a rubber boot on my factory CV joint, so I replaced it with this one
5/5

Taking the drive shaft off was the most difficult part for me. During the manufacturing process, the factory applied lots of thread lock to the u-bolts Bolts that hold a joint together. I removed the snap ring and the clamp on the cv joint boot band and the factory CV joint just slipped right off once my drive-shaft was off. am about 80 miles into this new CV joint and so far everything seems to be working well. I have updated Now that I've had this joint installed for over a year, I've taken my Jeep off road to Colorado and explored Silverton and Ouray. Over the past year, around 10,000 miles have been put on it. The joint continues to function well.

I have been at it for five My last review was rewritten due to a MIA customer service. It was originally a 5 star rating. Over the course of almost a year and a half, this joint lasted me. Although it lasted only a short time, it worked well. In a short period of time after installation, the band became loose and shed It wasn't a big deal to put a new band on. In order to locate this part before buying, I contacted Teraflex because I had trouble finding it I was overwhelmingly pleased by how quickly they replied, explaining how the item would be revamped and what a wonderful investment it will be, and how great the warranty will be, etc. The customer service was remarkable, I was totally I then waited for them to release the new OEM joint until I could have the old one repaired. I contact them a year and a half later to find out what's going wrong with their great joint. There are crickets. It never got back to me, not even a refusal to warranty it. I should have invested the 150 on a new driveshaft instead of a new dl. I now have a new driveshaft and you better believe it doesn't have a Teraflex sticker. You have amazing customer service before you make the purchase, but no one is there to help you when you need it.

The kit is very good, but there are some flaws in the directions and it should come with other tools and an additional As a result of this kit, Fiat/Chrysler has addressed a flaw that they should have addressed immediately, especially regarding the front driveshaft to the When traveling on uneven surfaces/roads, there is very little space between the clamp for the boot and the road to prevent the clamp from rubbing and damaging the boot prematurely
4/5

It is a great replacement, however, it is not an easy one and it will not make taking out the front drive shaft for any other type of a repair any simpler. My 2015 2 door joint was changed, and it is a straightforward process for an inexperienced A shorter 6mm ball hex needs to be included in the kit to obtain the proper torque spec, as well as a specification to engage the rear cover evenly at least 95% of the way for the unit to draw into the transfer case shaft. Also, I would suggest a second longer boot clamp since beginners usually screw up the first one, and they use a clamp that is too long, and they also use a clamp that is doubled or tripled wrapped since clearance is often the culprit in most cases. It just took me 3 hours to put the kit together and engage the rear cover to the transfer case almost fully using a deadblow hammer and wood block. If the instructions were clearer about how to do that, I would have followed them. A clean or lightly sanded transfer case flange is necessary to ensure that the torque spec of 15ft lbs is accurate. As a way to make the driveshaft go in straight, I used an adjustable jack stand to support it parallel to the transfer case during the install. In addition, I would measure the end 15 ft. lb torque to be in adequately powerful to seat the upper part into the lower part of the transfer case, as well as the bolt stick out from the transfer case and Rzeppa joint. The joint to the transfer case flange should not be drawn in with a power ratchet or impact gun! In order to prevent damage to the CV boot flange, the bolts should be drawn in slowly. Taking it out might result in needing a new drive shaft joint unit unless rust is cleaned up. Overall this is a great kit for the 3 Rzeppa joints found in the Jeep JK system, but better instructions are needed or premature failure may occur.

I installed it easily and it has been working well since
5/5

My last time passing through Metal Masher last year, I began to hear the tell-tale signs that I was about to die The clicking sound of an alignment joint in the back of the driveline. With a little Googling, I found that it was related to The CV joint on the drive shaft in the front of my car was to blame for the problem. Since I have a lifted JK, this is a fairly common issue, as the shaft has a sharper angle. have done some research, and I haven't decided whether to fork out the few hundred dollars to buy an aftermarket shaft (if/when my stock shaft fails), but if it does it won't delay me from purchasing one. It was this replacement joint which allows for steeper angles that caught my eye and I decided to try it. installation was quite easy, and TeraFlex produces great installation videos (as always, I enjoy your dry sense of humor! The following tip may be of interest to you. Whenever you want to take the shaft apart to work on it, make sure you mark it first! It will help you to line it up again later, if you took it apart to make it easier to work on!.

I was about to purchase a drive shaft, but I saved money
5/5

I installed this drive shaft without needing to replace my drive shaft and it resolved the front driveshaft angle issue. It is expected to take about 4 hours to install, with packing the grease into the bearing taking the longest amount of time. It's also a good idea to have an impact driver on hand to make removing skid plates and the drive shaft easier. In addition to the torque wrench, you'll also need some good work gloves.

It will take some time before we know how it works! 2 hours and 15 minutes were needed
5/5

LOG IN TO THEIR WEBSITE TO FOLLOW THE VIDEO FOR INSTALLATION. The installation will take 5 hours, but hopefully we will be good for a while. The long Allen socket for installation is a bit of a pain, but it is a necessary evil. It was a little challenging to remove the old shaft from the flange, but a few bumps from an air chisel worked like a charm after 45 minutes of hitting it with a mallet. well, it didn't feel terribly smooth, so maybe it needs to break in a little to feel smooth. It's pretty tight to begin with. My team will find out more this winter when we put the machine to work several days a week and I'll update as necessary. There is a lot to love about Teraflex products, so let's cross our fingers!.

Changing the drive shaft can be easier than you think
5/5

This is a great product that is easy to If there is only the need to replace a CV a joint you do not need to replace a drive shaft. If the original CV boot tears and the drive shaft makes a clicking sound, then this product will fix the problem.
