In all, it took an hour and a half to complete a job that should have taken 30 minutes. I had to take a close look at it after being unable to get the threads started. During the sewing process, the threads became bent in a small area. A file was used to carefully grind out the part. I got a low oil pressure warning (turn off engine warning) when I was 60 miles from home. There was a code for P0521 and a code for An honest mechanic down the street verified the problem after I took the car to him. The week that I lost a lot of money was a bad week for my work vehicle. It would have been best if I had taken Scotty Kilmer's advice next time.
In spite of the videos showing this is a straightforward job, patience is still required. I was having low oil pressure due to this part and it fixed the problem. In this case, getting the electrical wire to snap back into place was the most difficult part of the job. The screw was in such an awkward place that you had to experiment a lot to get it to snap in place. Despite trying several ways, I was finally able to hook it up after about an hour. Let me wish you all a better fate than I had.
The low oil pressure warning is going off again after I installed this sensor about a year ago. Originally, it was meant to replace the original equipment The warranty is for 24 months, so I contacted customer service and the representative agreed to replace it after struggling with me for a few minutes (and tried to placate me with a $10 gift card). Next Monday, I need to drop off the defective one at UPS, and the new one should be here by then.
I'm pleased with the results so far.
