Can you tell me how to read 5x5x24 inches? If 24 inches is the diameter, then what is 5 x 5?

Based on my latest review, which I have repeated, I'm unable to tell you what the 5X5X24 inch is. It is impossible to size the ring gear to 24" in diameter, nor is it possible to use the 5X5 gear ratio. It is likely that you have a Briggs 10-hp or maybe an 8-hp The engine should be able to handle 15 horsepower. Your engine model number can be found by searching online for the break down of parts. You will need to compare the part number you find to the one below. The rules should be the same for both. This might be of use to you.

Part number 491180 replaces the Briggs and stratton part number listed above. Does the motor #461707 0145 E3 belong to that model?

This is the perfect engine replacement for the John Deere LX280, Model 1538, 15HP Briggs and Stratton
5/5

Definitely a better upgrade than the OEM nylon junk that came with the system. After tracking down the P/N's and confirming this gear could replace the OEM gear it took some time to get the replacement After I moved into a place with a real yard, I couldn't afford a new mower, so a friend gave this one to me. I've tuned it up and it's working fine Updating and other small tasks. Additionally, there were just too many missing teeth, and it was consuming the starter gears on a regular basis. My John Deere LX280, Model 1538, Hydro080196, had a 15hp Briggs & Stratton ring gear in it. I bought this and replaced the ring gear This lawn tractor is manufactured by Strato. Now that the mower is perfect fit, it runs just like it did when it was new. It is much easier to replace the starter gear than the motor ring gear, and it should allow the mower to operate for a long time.

The ring gear can be replaced in a few simple steps
5/5

Getting this gear replaced is a great idea.
It was simple for me to replace it. The flywheel housing must be removed from the motor after the flywheel is removed. You can use a right angle grinder to grind off the heads of the ring gear pins. Using a large screwdriver as a wedge, pry off all of the old ring gear with a hammer and a large screwdriver. The flywheel should be flush to the surface when the four pins are driven into place. You need a round punch that is smaller in diameter than the pins and you need to drive them out with it. (A tapered punch is ineligible you must use a round punch. ) There is no need to drill or do anything like that, since the existing holes in the pins are perfect for the bolts provided. Putting the "C" clip back on the starter was the most difficult part of the job. As soon as I replaced the starter gear I did not remove the mower from the ground. I should have a couple of extra "C" clips on hand since they have a habit of sailing across the shop and disappearing at the end of the day. However, that is how I performed the task and it was very.

This is a better rendition of the An excellent product

I had to change the plastic/nylon flywheel gear I had on my B&W Chapter 14 of the Bible. The engine for the 5 HP model 287707 has worn out over the years. I nursed it along to get the riding mower running again in the last couple of years. A final constraint was that there wasn't enough teeth to set it in motion. It was the removal of four steel rivets that held the gear to the flywheel that proved to be the most difficult part of the flywheel gear replacement process. The drill press was very helpful to me, and I highly recommend that you use one as well. There is no way I would do this with a hand I am unable to imagine how it could be done. Additionally, there are magnets inside the flywheel that need to be replaced. Due to the magnetic field, the steel chips from the rivets stuck to the magnets during drilling. You need to remove every tiny bit of steel shaving from the magnets, which may not seem like a big deal, but they are powerful and I am not willing to risk damaging them. it to do over again, I would have covered the large hole that runs through the center of the old, plastic/nylon gear with duct tape so that the steel chips don't stick You should also make sure that you have a shop vac on hand while drilling Chips will fly everywhere and there will be a lot of them. You may now file the rivets flat so that they can be pulled through the other side with vise-grip pliers once the rivets have released the old flywheel gear. All in all, it's a bit of a challenge, but very rewarding. There is no question that the aluminum gear fits nicely into the flywheel and bolts up easily. I highly recommend this product for those with the tools and who can handle the installation. Find a friend who has a drill press if you don't have one. If you're this far into it, you might as well include the starter gear kit #497606 and the new key #222698 on your order. The Amazon website. Please visit www. com. This starter gear kit provides you with an additional starter gear (you also get one with the flywheel gear above), but you also get a new Bendix hub, spring, spring cap and shaft clip with the kit. The gears were beginning to stick in mine. It was still functional but it had been used a bit. It will only cost you a few dollars more if you purchase the starter gear kit. It is also necessary to replace the 3/16 x 3/16 x 9/16 long key between the engine crank shaft and You don't need to second guess this, just make it happen. It will only cost you a few dollars to purchase a set of three. You can't use the old key, regardless of how good you think it is. It is a tiny piece of machinery with a lot of work to do and is stressed out a lot As someone who has experienced it myself, I can attest to it. The following is my revised version When I assembled the rebuilt flywheel to the crank shaft with the old key, it sheared in half the first time I crank the engine. All it takes is a tiny little fracture and your engine is kaput.

It seems to work quite For the right application, this is a fantastic product
5/5

Mechanical skills are all you need to do this correctly, and you won't need to think as long as you have the tools. You are so kind to include a starter gear in addition to this. I bought a used mower with a dumb-looking handle, and I couldn't get it to work Before, a dumb previous owner set up one that was too big! This is why, to put it simply, the plastic ring gear sheared smooth to begin with.

The flyweel is removed by removing rivets
5/5

As a method of removing the four rivets, it is suggested that they be drilled. To accomplish that would be an enormous amount of work and is In order to remove the peened ends of rivets, I used a die grinder. They were punched out as soon as I got that far. There is a lot of force involved here, so it takes a strong hammer and a few good swings. Lastly, I wrapped the flywheel with saran wrap in order for the metal shavings to not attach themselves The grinder threw the shavings far away from the flywheel, so it wasn't really necessary to do so. Despite all the challenges, everything went according to plan.

Here's some news! The model 311777 has been fixed! My husband and I bought this for our Briggs & Stratton tractor I have found the Stratton model 311777 engine, which is not listed on the site as compatible

At B&T, there are a lot of people who take care of you We never got any help from S with determining if this was a good match. We've got you covered. The answer is yes. My purchase was a success.

Included in the purchase is a happy customer. I am pleased with the casting. Upon replacing the plastic pinion gear with the ring gear that came with the set, my mower came to life. Getting the new C-card is easy with this tip The starter motor should be attached after the pinion gear has been replaced. Trimming back the C-beam with the dremel was easy using my dremel The clip is easier to get around the shaft if it is attached to the shaft via a clip. As soon as it was pulled from the box, it was almost a perfect circle. Next, place a groove on the tips of a pair of needlenose pliers with a dremel cutting disk. As soon as Now that the clip is in position, use the groove on the point of the pliers to attach it!.

This is a great fit that works well

You will need a new crankshaft key to install these, but they are easy to install. You should get a new key with it. The old rivets should be removed with a chisel, and the flywheel nut should be torqued to 80 ft-lbs. Weight in pounds.

To change out the puller I need a different fit for my lawn mower
5/5

My favorite part was that I received it on time and it fit me perfectly. My lawn mower was back in action in no time. You will need a puller to get off the flywheel as it's on the bottom and a drill to drill out the rivets holding it in place.
