Woodland Scenics P456 Pine Car Derby Wheel Alignment Tool

Anyone with a standard ruler already has this handy tool, but it is not really necessary to build a fast car. The design does have some nice features like having the wheels spaced correctly and making sure the car is high enough to clear. For those who do not have these, the design has some great features. But, outside of those who are trying to build a top 1% car, this is not going to help you at all.

It would be nice if I could rate this higher. When I put the ruler on the Alignment Tool up against another ruler at 6", the ruler on the Alignment Tool was short by over 3/32 of an inch. I was now questioning the accuracy of everything else on the gauge after seeing that.

My package arrived damaged, and I was instructed to return it. It is made of plastic, which suggests that it may break again so I didn't get a replacement. The purpose of this item was to ensure wheel alignment, but a straight edge could provide similar results. A metal version would have been worth two stars, as I would have hung on to it if it had not been damaged.
