Because my golf cart and I are both over 100 years old, shifting the reverse/forward gear lever has become a major issue. The problem was solved in ten seconds with this product. I followed another reviewer's advice and filled the back side cavities with resin glue, which I agree adds strength and durability to this fantastic product; I've included a photo to show the back of both the old and new ones. I wrapped the resin in masking tape and let it cure for a few days. It was a simple and straightforward procedure.
She could use some assistance. This is a great product that makes shifting your cart a lot easier. The only issue is that the cable stiffens up a little on older carts. I purchased one, installed it, and it only lasted a day. I returned it and placed an order for another. This time, I used JB Weld to fill all of the webbing in the back. Now I have a solid foundation on which to build, and it's working beautifully.
We have an EZGO 2018 for sale. The original shifter's screw came out at some point, and the shifter flew off somewhere on the road while we were towing the golf cart, but I prefer this shifter to the original. I was worried it would hit my leg as I drove, but it doesn't even come close. I only wish it had come with a screw to put it together. For the time being, it's just sitting there because it's easier than shifting it with pliers. We're on vacation and won't be able to get to a hardware store. The instructions simply state to remove the factory screw, which is a little inconvenient because I don't have one. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for this minor flaw.
It's not quite as good as the GO handle, but it's close. The FWD/REV switch on our cart is getting a little stiff as it gets older. This makes it a LOT easier to use. br>The only drawback is that the handle rubs against the back of my calf in FWD, but I'll overlook that for the improved operation. br>I was planning on making something similar, but the price made it a no-brainer. It would have taken me a long time to come up with something ugly, but this looks nice, works great, and only took me 3 minutes to put together after I opened the box. br>This is a well-made item that fits perfectly and significantly improves the cart's usability. br>Get one!.
It was extremely inconvenient to use because you had to lean forward and move it in an awkward manner. I was fed up with it and decided to give this one a shot on the spur of the moment. What a difference, oh my goodness. I adore how easy it is to use and how simple it is to set up. I'm not sure why I didn't do it sooner. This switch should be used in place of your flat switch. I guarantee you'll be a lot happier as a result of this. It is a much more natural movement because it sticks out just far enough to get a good grip. It will appeal to you in the same way that it appeals to me.
My wife had trouble shifting forward to reverse when we bought this used EZGO Marathon because the shift was stiff and the handle was short. It was a challenge for me, too. The lever arrived quickly, and replacing it with the single screw took less than a minute. Although it is nearly twice as long as the original lever, the ball end is easier to grasp than the thin flat end, resulting in a lower force. My wife has mentioned how much easier it is to use on numerous occasions. One caveat: you can't lift the bench seat all the way up with the longer lever in the neutral up position. After ensuring that the key is turned off, move the lever to forward or reverse, and the seat will easily rise.
My pre-EzGo Marathon 1994 EzGo Marathon was a perfect fit. 1994 5, model. My EzGo Marathon's shift mechanism, as mentioned by another reviewer, has become a little more difficult to move. To keep the plastic on this new shifter from breaking too easily, I jb welded the back of the shifter (i. e. , but not the square one that connects to the cart), filled the gaps in the back of the shifter's plastic. With the extra leverage on this part versus the original part, it works great and makes it easier to shift.
DOESN'T SAY EZGO AT ALL! Just a heads up, there is no mention of ezgo anywhere on the handle. However, it is far superior to working in a factory. It has a nice outward angle, which I like. It's a lot easier to shift, and it won't scratch your skin.
