Genuine Chrysler 5080529AD Power Liftgate Switch

It would appear occasionally on my instrument panel warning lights that the lift gate had not been closed. There was a lift gate in the back of the parking lot that wasn't entirely locked but it wasn't completely all the way closed A few hours later, in the middle of the night, the inside light remained on since the latch had unlatched. Since it was mentioned that other Dodge Caravan owners had had this problem as well, I bought the switch. On the electrical connector where this part is located, there are two phillips screws and two torx bit bolts holding the plastic license plate light cover on. Even though they were rusted, I was able to remove them. This fastener rarely gets touched, so it was easy to remove. When the cover is removed, you will be able to find It was advised not to splice the wires due to the rain and snow that have been falling on the area. It would have taken another hour to do it the way it was instructed because the plastic enclosure on the inside of the tailgate would have to be removed. Additionally, even though there is a small hole on the inside of the door for the lift gate to release, if this switch is defective, you may not be able to open the gate. It was so easy for me, using just butt connectors and silicone caulk, that I cut the wires and connected them with butt connectors. The entire project took me about a half an hour when I did it this way.

There was a time when my liftgate switch would work intermittently, and this became really annoying. Then I would get lucky - sometimes I'd click 20 times and finally hit the button. Winnin' bingo is kinda like winning the lottery. Eventually, I got tired of it and replaced the switch, which solved all my indigestion problems. In contrast to their suggestions, I did not send all wires through the inside of the panel. Connectors were installed, the wires clipped, and electrical tape was applied to them in a neat manner. I have solved the problem.

To install the new wires, I had to pop out the old ones from the connector. The rest of the program works fine. This would definitely be a good choice.

I am very happy with the results since I installed it last month - no failures to date - INVESTMENT TIME OF AN HOURS Cannot give 5 stars because it has not been used very much only time will determine if it is reliable. However, at the moment it is working well.
