Questions & Answers

Can the antenna mast be purchased separately from this component? You simply mount the fender to make the cable go to the deck, or is the whole unit mounted on the fender?

The answer is no. My T4R's antenna was white, when every forum online said it should be black. I ended up spending $32 on another antenna at the local cell phone shop.

How do I know if it will fit my 1992 Toyota MR-V What is the difference between the coupe and a non-turbo?

I bought this after buying a 2001 Toyota 4 runner and believe it was made specifically for it

The rubber "ornament" appears to be included here, as does the chrome nut - Is the purchase of these items included or do they need to be bought ?

I wanted to include the nut and bezel with this. Zach can be found at The Antenna Source

Exactly the same as its predecessor
5/5

A real antenna - that's what we're talking about. Occasionally, I can tune in to stations on my radio when the antenna on my 4Runner has been broken for a few years. I already had to replace my original motorized antenna twice because it broke twice. Now, I have a nonmotorized antenna instead. Replacing it with this was the right decision. It was actually possible to install it faster if you used the original connector, and luckily I took it to my mechanic who saved me an incredible amount of time on the installation. Amazon has a Toyota antenna mast that works perfectly. The unit does not come with an antenna mast. I tried two different stubby antennas and they both failed to get reception. I chose this and the Toyota antenna because they worked well together. Using the longer mast for the antenna is better. Plus, it looks really.

If you have had the metal retractable from the factory, this is a great replacement
5/5

It was just installed on my 1999 4runner and If you have had your factory retractable antenna break, this would be a great replacement. You can expect OEM Toyota parts to be of high quality - That perfect fit is perfect! I recommend purchasing this if you want a solid option that allows you to run any kind.

To be Toyota OEM, you must meet quality standards
5/5

It is used for converting a power antenna to a whip antenna on my third generation Toyota 4Runner. I looked up instructional videos on YouTube and installed the software fairly easily. I found that threading the cable in through the firewall and along the back of the dash to be the most challenging part. Make sure you ordered replacement clips for the splash guards in the fender well before attempting to remove the splash guards. It doesn't matter how careful you are, you will break something, no matter how careful you are. It is possible to find a kit with a lot of clips specific to Toyota on Amazon.

My retractable antenna was broken, so I needed this item to replace it
5/5

My 1982 4Runner retractable antenna broke, so I purchased a new mast antenna for it and a replacement retractable antenna for my 2002 4Runner. Whenever removing an old antenna, ensure that a strong nylon string is wrapped around the end of the old wire before pulling it out, so that the new antenna wire can be routed through more easily. The steps to do so can be found online in some walkthroughs.

For a 3rd gen 4runner, it is the ideal replacement for the auto antenna that was damaged
5/5

I tossed my busted up automatic antenna from a 3rd gen 4runner This bad not has been installed with a stubby screw, and it appears to be working. There is a long whip screw on if I need it, but this method allows me to pick and choose the screw on.

For my , this was the perfect replacement for the antenna power motor
5/5

In my 2001 4runner, which has a magnetic antenna power motor, it was the perfect swap. Using a standard whip, I was able to replace the retractable antenna. It is a little complicated to wire it behind the dash, It is recommended that you get step-by-step instructions and pictures online by searching for how others have done it. Pull a string through the cord and do the same for the cord!.

Installation was a breeze and the software works beautifully. This antenna replaces my old retractable one and I could not be more pleased with it.
