Within a week of professional installation, this pump began whistling, which progressed to squealing. At the same time, the idler, tensioner, and belt were all replaced. The fluid was changed, and the return line oring was completed, only to discover that this pump is complete garbage. Not only did it squeal, but it also gave me strange feedback when I made full turns, with the wheel not returning to zero. Spend a little more money on something with a warranty and you'll be doing yourself a favor. I had to replace it with a store brand that worked perfectly. This o- Many ps pump failures are caused by the ring leaking and allowing air into the system, which can cause noise.
A vaned pump is a simple pump with a single vane. There's no magic in the number three in this case. It's a no-brainer at a fraction of the cost. The part is simple to install and functions in the same way that the old one did when it was first installed.
Perfect fit for the power steering pump on a 2006 RSX, and it works perfectly. It's a little noisier than an OEM unit, but it's well worth it for the low price, and it's a 45-minute job.
However, the high pressure line now whines when I accelerate. I'm assuming it'll arrive in the same manner as the pumps. After You get what you pay for, the system was flushed.
The price is excellent, and the product is flawless.
