Let me ask you a question Using the flywheel cover as a guide, how do you install this? The bendix and gearthanks are usually extended on standard starters ?

No problems installing the cover after it has been placed. The starter gear gearhole overlap and the gear gap should be checked by removing the cover from the starter and bolting the starter to the block with a small pry bar. Additionally, it would be recommended to do all of that with the engine cold and with the battery disconnected

Makes a high pitch sound when this starter is turned on? I don't think this is the kind of starter you normally hear. As far as I can tell, it works as it should.?
