Are the brackets on this alternator bolted to the cylinder heads?

It bolts to your alternator either through the head or the block depending on which small block Ford you have, i.e. Windsor, Clifton, etc.

In order to mount the generator, the bolts provided would not fit the 289 Ford block. The kit did not come with a new insert for the bracket, so I needed to buy a smaller bolt and thread an insert into the bracket I purchased. It is a good idea to use a Y-shaped water pump bracket. There is no way to secure the other side of the alternator with the spreader link. A bad vibration is caused by its flexible ball joints at the ball joints. To securely mount the alternator, I had to build an additional bracket.

I find the instructions a bit difficult to follow. A sparse population. A lot of different vehicle configurations can be fitted with this aftermarket part, and it's kind of like knowing what you're doing in advance to install it.

A bracket for an alternator

Easily mounted my alternator after relocating the mounting bracket. An extra part kit is provided so that different applications can be mounted. It was just one 3" bolt that wasn't included in the kit since I was using a GM alternator on a Ford. Despite that, I give it a five-star rating.
