These were purchased to replace my Jeep's stock shocks. I don't offload, but I was looking for something more than OEM. Because I had read that they rust easily, I cleaned them and applied a coat of rust oleum before installing them. Once I was able to remove the old rusted shocks, these were a breeze to install. The red boot cover was something I didn't think I'd like, but it's barely noticeable.
It's been on my 2015 Jeep JKU for a year and a half now. The tie rod mount end has been leaking for 5 months. It was fantastic for the first month, but the last few weeks have been a little difficult. It now resembles the one I pulled from the dead factory. br>Each and every local and interstate road. This stabilizer has yet to be tested on a dirt road.
This was installed on my 2012 Rubicon with 2. Stock 32" tires/17" wheels with a 5" Rock Krawler lift. Drop-off is simple. There is no side pull associated with gas-powered vehicles in replacement, and there is no side pull associated with gasoline-powered vehicles. dampeners for steering stabilizers that have been charged I replaced the OEM dampener with a Rubicon Express dampener, which I didn't like because it didn't help with bump-handling. After turning, the steering wheel and wheels had to be "coaxed" back to their original positions. The Rancho 5418 didn't have either of these problems; it didn't come with any instructions, but it didn't need them.
Rancho shocks were installed on my Jeep four months ago, and when the steering damper failed, I chose Rancho to complete the set. The old steering damper had a worn spot that allowed the wobble to start, but the new damper has solved the problem.
RC lift number five. When compared to the removed original, it had a good steering feel, didn't add any effort to steering, and felt like it took twice the effort to push the shaft in. Also, as before, the steering wheel returns to its original position. So far, I've covered 15k miles with no problems. I would purchase this item again.
Installing it is simple and fast. The entire process took about 30 minutes. I don't think the stock OEM stabilizer makes a significant difference, but I had already replaced all of my shocks with Rancho brand shocks and thought this would be a good complement. I've driven on both highways and forest roads since then, and the steering is firm.
It's a perfect swap, and it's a quick and easy replacement swap. br>The 2015 JKU JEEP WRANGLER SPORT now stays nice and straight while driving down the road and doesn't wander at the wheel.
Deff. I'd suggest it.
The boot is red and the body is solid white. For me, this works better than the stock damper because I have heavy 35-inch tires. It appears to have a lower amount of bump steer. If your tires are smaller than 35 inches, I would not recommend replacing the factory damper with this unless it is damaged or leaking.
