Questions & Answers

In their videos and charts, Daystar says that this fits all Ford Explorers from 1991 until 2001. According to Amazon, there will be no fit! HOW DO YOU KNOW?

The item will fit the following Thank you, Briana

Are these parts compatible with the pre 6/2001 Sporttrac models that were made prior to 6/2000 and use ?

Do you know what the sporttrac is, do you want to call them? Poly blocks of different sizes are sold separately there, according to what I have seen. Are there any existing mount blocks you could measure? I must say that this system is a great improvement over my original mounts that weren't bad, but the Daystar mounts are even better at cornering and handling. There was a noticeable difference right away. Getting the old mounts torn apart and reusing the hardware is probably the most difficult part of the whole project. I wish you the best of

Do you think this will fit my 1996 Ford Explorer?

Designed to fit the Explorer Sport 2001-2008

Are these grommets helpful (effective) in reducing road noise on a 1997 Ford Explorer? Also, how difficult is it to replace these grommets?

I'm not sure what you mean by that. The suspension on these 2nd generation Explorers is generally poor to begin with. Therefore, I had them installed on my 1996 Explorer and they wrecked the ride. Instead of using real rubber to mount your body, these synthetic body mounts are better at transmitting small vibrations. Each bump, nook, and cranny of the road will make it seem like it has not been smoothed over. It's really not that difficult my mechanic replaced them for $400 labor, so I would think it can't be that difficult. You'll need to remove seats, unbolt the cabin, and raise it about 5 inches. In order to enter, you need to be 6 inches tall. In my opinion, the mounts from Ford are expensive, but it isn't that difficult to do with the proper tools. If I had to do it again, I would get the

A good way to take care of your vehicle is to have it serviced
5/5

The part was used on a 96 Ford Explorer 4x4 Sport (2 dr)
We always replace the body mounts when we start a project or build, and I have been using Daystar urethane for at least 20 years now. There is a problem with the rubber body mounts, either wear from use, oxidation or UV damage, or a combination of both, while the steel body or mounts have rust damage, topping the whole thing Despite the urethane body mounts' flex, they are not solid mount harsh. We omit the stock body mount bolts and use 3/16" plate for washers for our purposes, but I'm sure they work for stock applications too. Our customers appreciate the fact that fiberglass fenders are mounted on their vehicles and that their body panels are positioned correctly so that alignment is correct, not to mention the fact that their vehicle feels much better after they have replaced their stock mounts with urethane ones. It is our policy to only use Daystar urethane body mounts. They are great for all uses.

You can modify it a little to make it work
4/5

The body mounts were installed on my son's 2002 Explorer Sport to replace the defective factory foam It wasn't a perfect fit, such as the rear axle mounts, so I had to shim it up with washers as spacers, as well as the mounts in certain areas. Also, there was no need to replace the front bushings, because the originals were made of good material and didn't decay. It seems to fit more comfortably. All the other areas were no problem to fit into place and did not have any problems. found that heating bolts with a torch for removing made the process a lot easier since corrosion and thread lock made it a lot more complex. Body mounts made by Daystar are of good quality and should last the life of any vehicle as well as being a lot cheaper to buy than replacing them with factory parts from.

I don't know what to do
3/5

First of all, I can attest to the fact that once installed, it's a really pleasurable ride. A huge lack of instructions was given -- the only thing mentioned was what mount went on top and bottom, but it didn't specify which side was right side up. Although it is obvious which side goes down on the top fittings, it is a little harder to tell on the bottom bushings, so I am still not sure if I put them upside down. Also, they don't tell you which washers are needed and where they should be placed. In my opinion, the instructions were the most valuable part of the tool, and they are very important when it comes to mounting accessories on your vehicle, and that's why I gave it a 3 star rating.

You can feel the smoothness returning! My original body mounts on my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport were corroded and worn out
5/5

I purchased these to replace them. My body felt every bump, and my ears heard every tremor. It was impossible for me to find replacements. Amazon was not only able to help me find a replacement, but also to offer me a very fair price. In the blink of an eye, I handed them over to my mechanic (too big of a job for me). OH MY GOD! Having a new car makes me feel like a new person. I'm loving how smooth this is. Hit the purchase button if you want your old smooth ride back.

Put an end to the loud banging and body rolling
5/5

It is a good product. I ordered it for my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 4x4 2 door and I had it professionally installed by a I stopped the banging on my truck. My bushings were all rotten so I bought this bushing kit from this vendor rather than paying Ford 800 dollars for bushing kit. You will save about 670$. I definitely recommend this kit in my opinion.

I found the installation easy however, I was disappointed with the results
3/5

My 1996 Ford Explorer XLT is going to get these installed. I found the installation easy however, I was disappointed with the results. There is a very stiff suspension on the second generation Explorer. That problem is only exacerbated when these bushings are used. I can now feel every single crack and imperfection on the road, even though I can manage major pot holes much better with Daystar bushings. The OEM bushings from Ford would be better, so I am considering throwing these out.

I have solved the banging issue! As a replacement for the rotten, missing bushings that caused loud banging noises each time my 2001 Ford Explorer Sports hit a bump, I installed these bushings
4/5

It will be necessary to use the old bolts and bottom threaded plate. However, with a torch, you can loosen them. The bushings aren't an exact replica of the existing ones, but they do the same job. It is now much quieter in the cab and there is no more banging. There's no reason why I didn't do it.
