Questions & Answers

Is that the cost of one spring or two?

The one I purchased was for a single set of two springs (one for each side).

Is it for both the right and left sides?

UPDATE TO MY ANSWER: THE FRONT AND REAR PIECES ARE APPROXIMATELY THE SAME LENGTH, BUT THE SINGLE LEAF PIECE GOES IN THE FORWARD SECTION OF YOUR TRUCK'S SPRING AND THE PIECE WITH TWO (2) LEAF SPRINGS GOES ON YOUR TRUCK'S REAR SECTION LEAF SPRING, AND IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH FOR ADDED MEASURES, THE NUTS WERE SAFETY WIRED WITH 32 THNDS AIRCRAFT SAFETY WIRE. THIS WAS INSTALLED ON AN 05 GMC CANYON.

Could someone tell me how far the nuts on the ubolts are pushed in? Thanks?

The suspension tightens up as the nuts are tightened.

Is this for each, or do I need to order two?

Order 1. It will be made up of four pieces, one for each axle in the front and one for each axle in the back. Before I sold the truck, they served me well for many years.

It's simple to set up and use, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do
5/5

Installed on my 2008 Colorado Crew Cab 4x4 with these. The rear suspension was significantly stiffened as a result, and overall handling was greatly improved. They also raised the back by about an inch. I leveled the truck by adjusting the front torsion bars, which I believe improves its appearance. Some reviewers reported headaches, so I'm guessing there's variation between model years, etc. There is a right and a wrong way to install these, so make sure you read what little instruction there is before you start. However, these are not a difficult add-on for the average DIYer on my '08.

Hellwig was born in the year 1520
5/5

Rather than getting an add-on, I decided to get these. For my 2005 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab, I needed a leaf system. I wanted to stiffen the back of the truck without putting too much lift on it. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. They took about an hour to install and are very functional. I have them set to about half-power and have recently loaded my truck with three loads totaling well over 1000 pounds. It didn't even realize it was there until it was too late. The handling has vastly improved, and the lean in corners that I previously experienced has significantly decreased. The only thing I didn't care for was the fact that the u bolts aren't painted and stick out like a sore thumb. They will be painted by me. I was also pleased with the lift of about 1/2". It's just enough to give it a tougher look without making it look silly. At first, I couldn't believe the difference. . . really. As I previously stated, all of these results are based on them being about halfway cranked. I'm guessing you could crank them up or down to get different results. Overall, I'm happy with my truck purchase! P. br>br>P. br>br>P. br>br>P. I was able to get around the shock bolt problem in another way. The u-shaped u-shaped u-shaped u-shaped u I tightened the bolt halfway, then slid it up to the spring's end. This essentially "went around" the shock bolt, which I then tightened with an open ended wrench rather than a socket. There was no need for me to remove the shock bolt or cut anything. Because I own a Z71, the previous review may not have been accurate.

For Colorado, a wonderful ally emerges
5/5

I was about to put on the LP when I realized there was a problem with it. My 06 Colorado handled and rode like a car with the help of 15 Hellwig helper springs. The ride was comfortable, but it was a little too soft in the turns, with more roll than you'd expect from a truck. It would sag more than one would expect for a half-ton truck when loaded, which was not very heavy. Using the Lp- With 15 springs, the ride is still smooth, but not as soft, and there is less roll in the curves and turns. They improved the handling more than I expected without making it a particularly difficult or unpleasant ride, and I particularly like the spring adjustment feature. To add a little more firmness, I tightened the shackle even more. The truck will remain fairly level with the additional weight. When you're finished hauling the extra weight, let go of the shackle bolts. When riding empty, I tightened my springs a little more than the instructions recommended to help with the softness and roll. br>On the subject of installing the springs, there is one thing to keep in mind. It would have taken about an hour if it hadn't been for the (unexpected) arrival. I didn't have to disconnect the brake cable, which saved me time; all I had to do was bend the bracket slightly to allow the front spring to slide under. It was going well until I reached the aft spring. Due to the shock bolt hitting the shackle u-bolt, I was unable to complete the installation as directed. I attempted to turn the shock bolt around, but the head remained too thick. Plus, if it worked, I'd have to get rid of the u-shape. I replaced the shock and it came with a bolt. I loosened the shock bolt and pushed it back out of the way. After that, I inserted the u-turn. I put the bottom plate on it and bolted it in place, making sure the spring was touching the leaf spring so I could mark it with a nut against the u bolt. I gave myself a quarter inch more. to allow for the installation of a 1/2-inch lock washer On the u-shape, I nailed two nuts. To keep the bolts from spinning, tighten them against each other just past my mark. After that, I cut the u-shaped piece with my 90 grinder and a cut-off dics. When the nuts were removed after the cut, they chased the threads. The hacksaw would be useful, but the u-shaped saw would be better. Before you begin, make sure you have a way to cut the u-bolt. bolts, as well as two 1/2 in. Lock washers are a type of lock. Note: There was no need to remove the tire; simply jack up the frame to just above the point where the tire begins to lift off the ground. For safety, a jack stand was still used. I'm looking forward to experiencing the new ride and control. 5 Stars!.

Spring that are of good quality and are simple to install
4/5

Installed helper springs today, they were simple to install and gave the truck some extra height, as well as a lot more payload. I'm very pleased with how the springs worked out, and if your truck needs some extra springs, these will do the trick.

It could work out fine

My 2010 Chevy Colorado Z71 4x4 V8 didn't fit, so I returned it. It would, according to the fit chart. I must say that returning to Amazon was a breeze. I never got to use it, but I did waste an afternoon doing so.

It wasn't a perfect fit, and it wasn't very adaptable either
3/5

I honestly have nothing good to say about these springs. My purchase was for a 2007 Isuzu i-Pace. The 290 is a GM vehicle that is related to the Chevy Colorado and the GMC Canyon. Due to a variety of obstacles, the style chosen for this application cannot be mounted in such a way that the design's performance is maximized. Take it from me when I say that these are NOT "custom-made" items. fit". They haven't delivered much in terms of increased payload or ride height after being installed in the best possible location. I would recommend purchasing something else if either of these attributes are required.
