Questions & Answers

Will the 1515 fit a 2017 Toyota Tundra SR5? I used the same LP 15 on my 2006 Tundra, but Amazon says it won't fit. ?

It won't fit in my Dakota, according to Amazon, but if the dimensions are the same and your springs are the same, I believe it will fit universally. Good luck!

Are the front and back axle springs the same? Is it possible to swap them out?

No, one spring is a little bit longer than the other. I'm not sure which one it is yet.

Will these fit a Ford Explorer Sport Trac from the year 2003?

These were installed on a 2003 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 for some reason. With any questions I had, Hellwig's customer service was extremely helpful.

Is this going to fit my 2008 Silverado 1500?

For Toyota Tacoma, this is not the case.

I bought a small enclosed trailer in December and it turned out to be a fantastic product
5/5

It was towed to my house by the seller. We tried to hitch it to the ball on my 1995 Toyota pickup, but it wouldn't fit; yes, the hitch and ball were the same size, so I installed a Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch so I could tow the trailer with my pickup. The trailer slid into place without a hitch. When it went over the gutter in front of our driveway, the Class 3 Trailer Hitch's weight caused it to scrape. I decided to wait until Spring because it was starting to snow (wet snow). Because of the nice weather in March, my nephew and I decided to install the Hellwig 1515 LP-S. There are 15 spring helpers. I took my truck for a test drive after we installed the helper spring, exiting and entering the driveway several times without scraping. I then drove it down the road and through the devil's street gutter (where you can see crevices in the pavement from vehicles scraping and a scary pothole) with no scraping. My only gripe is that the Amazon page says it won't fit, but the manufacturer's website says it will, and it did. The threads on the U bolts and Nuts were also badly machined and needed to be cleaned up. The u bolts were all the same size, unlike a previous reviewer.

For a better lift, we're going to work on the back end
5/5

I got these because I didn't want to spend $250 on a new leaf spring and wanted to try them out first. br>The installation was simple and took only 30 minutes. My ride was bouncy and all over after 328k on these old springs. My suspension felt brand new after they finished the installation. br>I scooped my first load of gravel to see how the truck handled. Let me tell you, it was severely sagging prior to installation. br>I was scared because of how much it dropped, making it appear as if the suspension was about to fail, but I figured what the hell and did it anyway. br>1,500 pounds is a significant amount of weight. br>For your viewing pleasure, I've included some photos.

This is a fantastic solution
4/5

On a 98 Dodge Dakota, I installed these. This is a fantastic solution. I installed these on a 98 Dodge Dakota R/T with a lower tow rating than other Dakotas from the same year in order to tow a 4,500-pound trailer (500-pound tongue weight). When I pulled the trailer without these, the back of my truck bounced all over the place, but with them installed, the bouncy was greatly reduced. These made me feel a lot more at ease. Air bags are still on my wish list, but for now, these will suffice. The only issue I have is that the brackets bent before I could reach the recommended torque, forcing me to stop.

The wrong nuts were used, and the instructions were incomplete
3/5

Nuts were threaded incorrectly and arrived as 1/2"- 13 and U- The bolts were 1/2"-threaded. I had to go to the hardware store and spend $10 on 32 1/2"-long nails. Watch out for the fact that not only is the spring set available in two lengths (short in front, long in back, as directed in the directions), but the U-bolt is also available in two lengths. The length of the bolts is also variable, but this is not mentioned in the directions, and they are packaged in four bags (all of which are the same length). As a result, a relatively simple task took a few hours to complete.

However, I'm happy with the helpers in general
4/5

These springers have been extremely helpful in keeping the bed of my 2004 Toyota Tacoma level. I can carry a half yard of 5/8 minus gravel, and the bed will drop about 3 inches. It would sink about 6" before the helpers arrived, and only about 2" after they arrived. Over the axle, 3" above the rubber bumpers. According to the advertisement, handling is unaffected by the lack of weight. That appears to be the case, though the pickup bed does go up with no load when the outside ends of the helpers are cranked down a bit to provide more leveling under a load. With more weight, the truck bed sags even more if the levelers are not adjusted properly. Perhaps if the springs were a little stronger or had a little more tension, etc. However, I'm happy with the helpers in general.

Makes a 14-year-old truck's suspension feel brand new
5/5

Outstanding, 800 pounds of corn no longer affects the ride of my Tacoma, and I can now toss it in the bed anywhere instead of having to haul it. To keep the front end light, everything had to be stacked close to the cab. The rear shocks needed to be replaced as well, but these springs took care of that for me, saving me money. Shocks need to be replaced, which can be a pain. Makes a 14-year-old truck's suspension feel brand new. Now that these springs are helping, I think I'll be able to get 300,000 miles out of the rear shocks.

Assisted in the raising of my Tacoma's sagging springs! These were installed on my 2004 Tacoma double cab and raised the bed by 3/4" from the sagging springs
5/5

I leveled out my 2" front to match the back. Does make it altitude stiffer in the rear, but it handles better. I had to cut the front spring clamp/rivit to make these fit, and the installation took about 1 1/2 hours. Excellent product!.

The quality is not up to par
3/5

When the package was delivered, the box was damaged, and a couple of nuts were missing. Also, the nuts were not fully machined, so they had to be tapped before being installed.
