A great deal of success was achieved with these. If you don't reinstall the IFS and the leaf spring, then you should completely remove the passenger side half of the IFS first. Do the bushings before removing the IFS half and leave out the passenger side leaf spring. Lastly, when it comes to the driver side half of the IFS with the differential, you remove the bolt holding the axle in place at the pivot point, press out, replace, line up and reinstall the bolt, and then remove the leaf spring while replacing It enables us to accomplish our goals much more quickly. You may also want to replace the innermost U-tube It is best to install the passenger side joint since everything will be out of the way. On the old leaf spring bushings, I pressed out the metal sleeve first, then the rubber. If the metal sleeve was not removed with the rubber, I cut it out with a metal cutting blade where the leaf spring curls around. Therefore, if you cut too deep, you will not leave traces of the cut in the leaf to be steamed As soon as the sleeve had been cut, I used a flat-head screwdriver to loosen it. The rest of the parts were pressed out with a ball joint press from OTC.
Compared to chain stores' quotes of $600+, I paid $275 at a local shop for installation. There have been no squeaks observed so far, as some reviews warned (the store claims they lubricate the screw threads prior to installation). It fits the 1997 F250 HD Xcab.
There is a stiffer ride than before, due mostly to the truck not rolling or dipping as much in the turns, but I like that because it is a 4x4 and I want to feel what I'm driving on. I notice that the truck seems to be a little straighter than it used to be, and maybe even a little more level now. Though I could be simply misinterpreting this observation due to the fact that I believe the bushings have been replaced. With this kit, you don't have to worry about fixing both the springs and the shackles, since it comes with all the bushings you need to do both. Additionally, at first glance, it may be difficult to believe that the two small tubes of lubricant that come in the kit will be enough to do the job, The first bushing taught me that you don't need to put the stuff on evenly. A thin, light coat is all that is necessary and does the trick Ensure that you lubricate ALL the metal surfaces that will come into contact with the bushings. If you damage the bushings or sleeves, be sure to deburr them after removing them. A bit of drilling is needed in the socket The thread, washers and nuts are fixed, and a little ingenuity goes a long way. Yes, you saw that right, remove the sleeves at the same time. In the new system, bushings go right into the spring and shackle eyes, so there is no need to remove.
This set of bushings was installed on the front of a 1984 Ford F250 project. They worked quite well and installed quite smoothly, at least as smoothly as can be imagined with bushings installed on a 4WD front end.
These bushings are much better fitted and more durable than my old worn stocks. As of yet, no squeaks have been heard. My overall opinion about their ride and performance is very positive, and I would The 1991 F350 has a Dana 60 front axle (this part fits my vehicle).
The 1995 F250 7 received these and I installed them. Featuring the Dana 50 front axle, the 3 Diesel is the perfect combination. Exactly how I wanted it to fit.
As of yet, there is no part number for the shackle flip kit. I'm still trying to find the last two steel pins that need to be purchased.
Since it's a heavy diesel, 3/4 ton, four-wheel drive vehicle, I haven't noticed any difference in ride quality. The installers should have no problem installing this and it should last for.
