Having read some of the reviews, I have to agree with you. Just by looking at it, it does not appear to be designed to be used with an impact tool Using my impact, I installed the new bushings without needing to do anything else. It would be better for the bolt to be bigger if the design were changed. The tool is a good one, and if you need some advice when replacing bushings, you might look to You Tube. If you just need to remove the bushings, it does not require this.
My primary purpose for purchasing this tool was to remove and replace the bushings on The rearend of a 5L. As of now, I have only used it to remove the old bushings prior to re-building it. The tool worked flawlessly and took out the bushings in a matter of minutes. By simply lubricating the threads, I was able to attach it quickly. For those looking for a useful tool for replacing and removing housing bushings, we recommend this product. Hotchkiss, thanks for your contribution!.
As I was replacing my rear upper control arm bushings, the nut welded itself to the bolt, so I had enough room to use an angle grinder to cut the bolt. I am heading to tractor supply or Lowes now to pick up a better grade bolt and nut.
The rear end bushings can be pushed and pulled with ease. It pulled them right out when used on a GMC 10 bolt. I received my package in a timely manner.
I would like the bumper stop to be placed. It complies with the description. It would be better if it came with the bumper stop to place in the trailing arm. Instead of using a pipe, I must use a socket.
As soon as I received it, I removed the old bushing and installed the new one I could not ask for an easier tool to use once these new ones arrived.
