A spring compressor is a good investment. I replaced the cracked springs in my 2008 In order to install a spring compressor, you need one. If you go to AutoZone, you can get one to rent. This is a much stronger, safer, and more durable alternative to the cheap ones What the springs are all about. Their effectiveness has been proven.

We replaced the rear factory springs in the 2009 Toyota Sienna Van that were at a fraction of the cost of the original Toyota springs
5/5

The original springs was broken after 180,000 miles, the dealer wanted $1200, but I had to pay a garage $70 to replace it. I spent just under $140 for the repairs, which work GREAT and I won't have to take a chance and blow a tire. I learned never to drive far with a broken front spring, because the spring can slip out of the spring cup puncturing a tire.
