Questions & Answers

On the Amazon website, do you have instructions for installation?

A set of instructions is included in the kit. On Airlifts website, you can also watch videos that accompany the articles. You need to drill the fram if you need to install it, but it is easy to install. There is only one thing to be cautious of not hitting the brake and fuel Even if you have never drilled a graim before, it isn't as difficult as you You will need to mount the base plate to the leaf springs or axle (I think some mount to the axle), then you will place the airbag on it, then you will line up the top bracket. One trick I found that I thought was cool was to run air line fittings through the license plate holes to manually fill the tanks. You can drill them less time and they blend into the background. My sincere hope is that this helps.

Can these be used on a 98 GMC Yukon?

I am not certain if this was bought for a GMC Yukon, but it was bought for a 2004 Ford F150

In order to install the rack on my 2001 Ford F250 4x4, do I need to remove the factory overload springs?

There is an overload spring in the 57215. Thanks a lot!

Can you get this with the air line?

I'm glad to hear that. Yes, our kit comes with everything you'll need to install the system. Thanks a lot!

It cannot be installed on trucks with gooseneck hitches
3/5

To inform buyers that this will not fit with a Gooseneck hitch installed on a truck bed probably was important. There is a failure of Amazon's part to properly notify customers of this. am now past the Return time because I had to work out the details with my mechanic and found out just now that The $3xx appears to be stuck with me now. There is a part on xx auto I cannot It is time for Amazon to improve.

Installs in no time at all
5/5

This has completely changed how the car rides. One of our early Ford F250s used to be a scary adventure to tow. With new shocks and air bags on your truck, you'll never leave the dealer without airbags again. They are also incredibly simple to install. Eight holes need to be drilled. It needs to be attached and bolted together. I think that's all there is to.

Quite an excellent value if you're willing to put in the work
5/5

This is my favorite kind of stuff. It didn't make sense to me to get the onboard air. I ran all of the lines from my two bags to a homemade bracket off the bottom of my It's the first time I've really put them to the test because I installed them on a '99 F250 Super Duty 4x4. The concrete blocks peeking out of the bed sides wouldn't have made you aware there were 3000 pounds of weight in the bed of the truck. Each bag was inflated to 60 psi, so anyone would not even notice there were any bricks inside. We felt as if we were driving home in an empty world. Empty actually rode better than it did on the train. It was a great experience. This keeps the truck level and straight going down the road, and it handles like it had the weight from the factory all the time. No more driving around with a load on, looking up in the air, and the rear end swaying all over the place on bumps. Another advantage is that you no longer need to add extra springs that won't give an inch when there are no loads on them. All you have to do is let out the air and you're right back to factory riding. The chances of me being disappointed are slim. There is one thing to note, the upper bracket that mounts to the frame will not completely clear the recess on the Ford frame. In order to fit the part of each bracket that rests on the circle of the recess, I ground one of the spacers provided for Mopar applications to fit a taper. As a result, I tried installing one without this and the thing had so much spring in it that the bolt snapped before I could torque it all the way down Afterward, I installed the homemade taper spacers and everything worked fine. Whenever something is universally fit, it often requires some modification or fabrication work before it can be installed. The frame needs to be drilled and a few spacers need to be modified on the bench grinder for my application. When you need something that easily plugs into the existing hardware on your truck, you will need to spend a little more money to get the one that's more tailored to your needs. In any case, this setup is money, and now that I've seen it in action, I wouldn't hesitate to use its advertised capacity. Now that I know how well these work, I will wind up putting them on every truck I own from now on.

Taking care of the burden
5/5

In my work trucks, I always have equipment or materials loaded in them. It's different to drive a truck with a load that way, and you get used to it. I wish I had these air springs long ago and could tell the difference between air springs and regular springs. It's not that hard to install them, but you do have to crawl around under the truck and reach around and through things while you're doing it. It is necessary to remove the wheels in order to drill the frame. This will not lift your truck to ride tall, so please do not buy it. A load truck is one with a load. This is a load lifter and won't help empty trucks, just like its name implies. This raises the back of one of my trucks so it sits at a normal ride height, which is great for my low-riding truck with a service bed. The leveling springs worked fine even on a 2000lb load on the tail with 65psi in the tires and a 2000lb load on the tail. If the truck is loaded to capacity, it handles well. For a pickup that is vacant and has service bed, I need to keep the pressure at 5 psi, but for a pickup with service bed, I need to have 15 psi. Once a truck has been unloaded, it does have to be reduced in pressure or it will bounce. With these air springs, the truck will no longer ride on the overload leaf, so it will ride like an empty truck. The ride is quieter and smoother when it is no longer riding on the overload leaf. An upgrade that can't be beat.

We appreciate how well controlled the vehicle rock and sway is, and how solid it feels when we are driving through The ride and handling of the cab over camper has improved greatly
5/5

No more "wagging dogs tail" feeling when hauling it. We appreciate how well controlled the vehicle rock and sway is, and how solid it feels when we are driving through I spend $300 on this truck and it was the best investment I have ever made! Simple leveling and easy adjustment of the weight of the fuel and water make this truck an ideal vehicle for fleets. A hotdog type compressor and 20' of hose are used to set tire and air bag pressure on the vehicle. In each wheel well, I took my time to carefully install and route separate air lines into the existing frame holes. We insisted on working with floor jacks and most typical power and hand tools. It took about 8 hours to install and we believe that to be a more accurate estimative time estimate.

Fit and finish are poor
3/5

I didn't expect it to work that well. These are not what I was expecting. It looks like it would be of good enough quality to last a while, but it is not a simple bolt-on To make it work, I had to bend and cut the upper bracket, then weld it to my frame. The box from which I received the equipment did not come with any paperwork, and all the parts were Even though I know enough to figure out how to do this without any directions, it would have been nice to get the literature they should have offered. In the event that the rear suspension were extreme flexed, the airbags would, for sure, be the limiting factor. As long as the airbags do not extend far enough to be suitable for a high-speed off-road driving experience, I won't be surprised if the bags break at some point The highway. I have a mega heavy truck, and with these pumped to 100psi they're basically getting to the point where they can't do anything for my truck even without a trailer. I should be able to use them whenever I'm towing, but I would have liked to see them extend a little further. In my experience, they behave more like overload springs and I would like them to behave like helper springs. Although they do improve ride quality, they do not do it to the extent I had There would have been no problem if I had extra leaves.
