It was a couple of years ago that the ammeter in the dash of my 1978 Dodge pickup developed a fault. In order to solve the problem, a voltmeter was substituted for the ammeter. I carefully cut the cases away from the meters and by only modifying a few parts of the Dodge inner dash and finding the correct wiring from the ignition key, I was able to convert it I understand that doing so voids the warranty on the meter, but I wanted to be able to see it from my dashboard.
