Questions & Answers

How can you list 5x5x5 as a product dimension? A voltmeter with a diameter of 2 5/8 inches is what I need. Are you sure 2592 is two and a half? There is no meter in the 2399 set that I should use. ?

An adequate hole will need to be drilled for the gauge of 2 1/16". The total diameter of this unit is 2 3/8 when it is paired with its bezel.

My gauges (oil temperature, oil pressure, and voltage) fog so badly I cannot read them
3/5

I purchased the gauges at the same time. They function well, but the gauges fog so badly I cannot read them! This is a problem for auto meter gauges, as I found it on the Internet. No response was received back from tech support when I emailed them. I replaced the incandescent light bulbs with LED lighting, which made the fogging less noticeable but did not eliminate it. As a result of moving from Stewart Warner, I guess I get that.

Feeling let down
3/5

Looks like a great gauge. On the other hand, the security seal that Autometer uses on their inner packaging has been damaged. It appears that the gauge had been disassembled at one point. This implies that the item had been out of the package. I found that the nuts on the rear of the housing that secure the gauge to the housing were extremely In the inner package, there was an open bag of nuts that had been cut up and lying on the bottom. We did not find the nuts in the plastic bag that were supposed to be Until I install the gauge, I have not done so. Due to the box having been opened and the inner clamshell package having been opened, I gave it two stars.

I don't have any problems, everything works fine
5/5

It was ordered as part of the 1965 GTO's electrical system, along with a voltmeter and a water temperature gauge. I don't have any problems, everything works fine.

On nights when it's foggy, gauge glass fogs up
3/5

During the night when the lights are on, this gauge's glass inside keeps fogging up on the inside. I contacted Auto Meter and they said that it depends on where you live and to send it back to them for service. It will be free of charge for them to disassemble the glass and coat the inside with a fog-repellent. Now that my dash has to come apart, I have to pay to ship the gauge back, and I have to have the car off the road. The whole thing is due to them failing to coat the glass with an anti-fog coating when they assembled it. There are certain Auto Meter gauges that suffer from this issue. If you Google it, you'll find it's a common issue.
