This is installed directly into the battery posts where the readings are perfectly synchronized with my Fluke test. It also reads fluctuations very rapidly. There is enough light and it is bright enough so you can read in any daytime environment. you are going to use this meter in a car, attaching an on/off switch is a good idea or mounting it so it is not directly facing the driver at night because the light is very bright.
