The reason I chose this one is that it has all the features I'm looking for, Is waterproof, and it's not a "one time use completely sealed" product. You can change the batteries and use it again. A small note in the instructions states that some 4 stroke / 1 cylinder engines will require a setting of 2 stroke / 1 cylinder // 4 stroke / 2 cylinders and I did change it to this setting and the meter reads correctly, reading RPMs correctly. When you set up your engine with incorrect settings, you won't be able to get accurate results. This program is extremely easy to use, and making changes is simple and easy. I would recommend it because it is simple to understand and the instructions are excellent, despite the small size of the writing. Runleader offers a lot of different hour-RPM meters that look almost the same, but with little variation in the features. These two products differ slightly in some respects, including their water resistance. Although I am not likely to use all of the features, I am happy that they are there if I decide to use them. With the meter set to an rpm range of 0 to 6000, I was measuring the rotation rate. Changing what number of coils I have from 5 to 4 to 3 to 6 is exactly what I did. My "coil" of wire was moved about an inch and a half from the connector boot. When there are 6 coils, there is a 1-coil bias All the problems were resolved at all throttle levels when the plug boot was 1/2 inch away. In addition, knowing how many run hours an engine has on its side as well as the number of starts it has made is also highly useful. After I installed the dash unit after replacing the head gasket on the tractor after 15 years of hard use, I mounted the unit to the dash. The rpm issue has been resolved, so now I'll set up the service intervals and the maximum rpm (alert) settings as well. His unit is great - I'm very happy with it. These are two I purchased, one for a log splitter and one for a wood chipper. The main reason I bought them was to keep track of oil changes as neither machine (34 ton splitter, 6 1/2 inch chipper) uses oil filters, although both are commercial ones. I want to use run leader to manage my project, but it is easy to install, has many features I don't need, and it is difficult to use. It shows me the total engine hours, along with a sub-window that shows me how long it will be before I need to change the oil, and a countdown until I change it. Working in the rain with a lot of vibration on both machines, so far no issues, and I just finished the 2nd oil change on both machines and will do the 3rd this afternoon. So after 40 hours working both tachs in hard conditions they are still working well.

To keep up with time spent on maintenance, I purchased this accessory to go with my Simpson pressure washer powered by a Honda GC190 engine. If we don't use it for a long time, our memories about how to navigate the menus and change the settings may fade. Therefore, we might need the manual to set up maintenance reminders once we have set it up. Following the instructions is important. As far as I am concerned, I have purchased the best tachometer, especially for its price. I would recommend it.
