If you install the odometer for the first time, you can set the starting odometer reading. You will have to reset it from zero if you don't.
The kit should not cause any problems, however make sure to enter the mileage first before making any changes. Besides that, I wish Yamaha would manufacturer them for the BOLTs so they could be installed
The bolt does not have a tank level float, as far as I can tell. It has no way of knowing how full the tank is, which is why I don't believe that a fuel gauge could be displayed on the bike.

In addition, In a nutshell It is a good purchase you will not regret. As someone that has a kuryakyn hypercharger on their bike (if you don't know what that is, I highly suggest looking it up), I have to say this is the best mod I have done on my SCR950. Everything was so easy to set up, it took me literally 10 minutes My mount took 15 minutes to mount, and I adjust every setting that I needed/wanted. Apart from needing to enter your mileage and a few other settings, the unit is completely plug and play. There are a lot of adjustments available, the tach is great, all the lights work as expected, the gear indicator is nice, and it is easy to read. The temperature section is one of the best features, it allows easy knowledge of the bike's temperature. It truly lets you know where it is at any given moment, so you can determine if it is operating at the proper temperature. I use this every time I start the bike so that it warms up properly before going. It is a fantastic piece of equipment and my only regret is not getting it sooner? The fact that it didn't arrive earlier. A small criticism there is a QR code linked to the setup videos in the instruction manual. There is a problem with the link. You will be taken to the company's website but with a 404 error, there you just need to select "Video" in the FAQ section and scroll down until you find the video. With the ability to see my speed / gear, I am able to better concentrate on my riding. The number of features is staggering, and its straightforward plug-and-play design makes it as simple as plugging in an adapter. Aside from recording speed and temperature, I also keep tabs on rpm and temperature. Besides speed and fuel warnings, you can also set temperatures and RPM warnings. A supplementary ABS light was also present, but I disabled it, since my 2014 Bolt R Spec is not equipped with one. If you want your riding to be safer and more enjoyable, I strongly recommend getting this.
