by the manufacturer is too short for my application. I spliced in about 3 feet of wire to it. However, it is not a big As I guessed from the description of the product, the wire was going to be short. The action is smooth and the design looks good. In addition to the sensor, the instrument appears to be of high quality. It will take me reading the manual to figure out how to stop it from cycling through When under pressure, a gentle chirp will be heard, along with an LED blinking. Considering the price is 1/3 that of some of the comparable gauges, it's a great deal.
The accuracy of this gauge was very surprising to me when I checked it with my OTC mechanical test gauge. There was no difference greater than 3 psi. The color of the display can be changed, and a warning message can be set in case of low pressure. In terms of cons, the cable from the sensor to the gauge is too long. It was easy to run the cable down the far left side of the fire wall to the cable mount on the right side of the engine. I mounted the sensor on the right side of my engine, near the air intake. In addition to splicing in 3 additional feet of cable to route the cable away from moving parts in the engine bay and then to the gauge mounting location, I also had to route the cable away from hot and moving parts. Except for that, I find the gauge to be accurate and it gives me the information I need.
This gauge is well made and an excellent value. Although the signal cable is long enough for most cars, the power cable is too short, so it must Since the menu for changing colors and alerts is a bit confusing, I left it at red with no alert. The running lights are dimmed at night when they are on, but they could be a bit brighter. There's a lot you get for the money with this product.
It is installed on Subaru Sti models that have galley plug adapters. I had to extend the cable a few feet to mount the unit where I wanted it. A Defi gauge and a gauge on this site gave the same readings!.
I would buy it There is a slight tendency for the gauge to stick out further from the pod than a name brand gauge, but it is still hard to beat for the price. A low-cost model can be installed on 3 components for less than the cost of one name brand model. In comparison to my mechanical gauge, my readings are accurate.
To get the colors I need, I just have to go to the store.
The price is very reasonable. You can buy an electronic oil pressure gauge with stainless steel for this price, which is a lot better than the mechanical oil pressure gauge.
You can set several startup actions for this gauge to set alarm values, and 7 colors are available for me to choose from. Even the alarm sound and volume can be set. This is excellent value for the money.
