I gave it a one star rating. According to my findings, other reviewers also experienced similar outcomes including the black-faced scale. This gauge was purchased by me in two pieces. I neatly wired and installed one only to find out that at full throttle the needle would not rise past 25 psi. Having purchased a mechanical oil pressure gauge to independently verify my motor's oil pressure, I became concerned my motor was malfunctioning. When the engine is at idle, its pressure is 40 psi and when it is at full throttle, it's 50 psi. In the next step, I tested a 25-year-old VDO gauge with its corresponding sender and confirmed good oil pressure using this method as well. Other attempts to troubleshoot, such as checking the wiring on the Bosch gauge and the grounding of the sensor, were unsuccessful. I have tested other configurations, including using a twin Bosch setup for a second motor, with the same outcome. It is reported that two Bosch gauges as well as their senders did not work It would be easy and it would be nice to eliminate this garbage product from the market, after all the time and effort spent on troubleshooting.

There was a problem with the gauge in the kit that I received. In the failure mode, the units did not move when the units were properly plugged in and powered (before the engine started). The accuracy seemed to be about right during that time. Quite well matched up with a mechanical gauge - Nevertheless, it does not go beyond 25 psi on start up anymore, and will only read either 0 or 12 An oil pressure gauge showed that my engine's oil pressure was good, so I was worried that it had a mechanical issue. Unfortunately, I'm not sure whether the problem was with the sending unit or the gauge. This one looks very good, and electric gauges are much easier to use than analog gauges in my opinion, so if you don't think you'll need it for very long, this is a great choice! Try a different brand instead, or use the mechanical version instead (which is cheaper).

As soon as the product was installed and the system turned on, the gauge read 30 pounds of pressure with the engine off. Ensured all wires and connections are in good condition According to the instructions, they are as described. I have grounded the product and it is receiving the indicated voltage of 12 volts. Oil pressure measurements cannot be taken accurately with the product as it has been out of calibration.

In order to monitor the oil pressure in my houseboat generator, I purchased this. When I installed it, I had no idea how it worked. While I can't be sure for sure unless I have a second pressure gauge somewhere, the illumination is great and the gauge appears accurate. I found the instructions to be clear and easy to follow.
