An empty to full gauge, this gauge measures 0 ohm (empty) up to 90 ohm (full). If you want to learn what your sending unit is, you can test it with a meter. This will tell you what you need to do.
There was no way it could fit inside the 1982 GMC Caballero I tried to put it in. This was very difficult to install and it required some major modifications of my dash to make it work. There will be an opening for this to fit into, so go ahead. Should you not share it, I'll pass on it and continue to look. This can involve a lot of work, but I have the time and the tools to handle it.
The fuel tank's sending unit is not used. The voltmeter is not sent by a sending unit either. The temp gauge, for example, and the oil level gauge may have a place to go.

That it fit nicely between the AutoMeter Tachometer and the AutoMeter Speedometer in my 1982 GMC Caballero was a plus. As expected, I had to modify the dash unit a bit in order to make it work, so it wasn't just a "drop-in" It is described as an "in" It would be nice if the Old Tyme needles on this unit matched the generic needles on the Tach and Speedo units. The restoration is still a work in progress so I have not had a chance to test out whether or not the unit works, but it certainly appears to be a good one.
The solution works! I use it in my vintage Volkswagen bus powered by a Sabaru boxer engine.
