My '02 Trailblazer had a steering wheel control that was chipped to the point that you couldn't even tell what it was for, and at night, the light distribution was such that your vision was obscured. The little decals are actually functional! Follow these tips The first thing you should do if you plan to do this is to scrape off any remaining paint flakes, catching them with a piece of masking tape so they won't Once that is done, use a fine grit sandpaper to gently smooth the surfaces and use rubbing alcohol to clean them and disinfect them. The last step is to use a Sharpie to shade just around the edges of the switch surfaces, as these decals rest on the flat surfaces. It is a good idea not to walk too far into the areas that have printing on the decals because the switches will glow from behind during the night, and those areas will be illuminated. Stick the decals firmly with your fingers to prevent them from warping, and use tweezers to position them before attaching. Then it went on- There you go! The new steering wheel controls look great!.
Depending on how you perceive it, they are transparent, not just the emblem alone. We could make the stickers bigger so that they cover the edges so the white edge of the sticker does not show (take the form of a heat wrap, for instance). It is better to look at shiny buttons than worn ones. When you scrape off the old emblem, you'll have a new one. Touching up around the edges was delicate and simple. Take it nice and easy and paint just to inside where the sticker sticker will stick. I used model paint (flat black (my buttons were black)) to cover the edges.
Despite the fact that it did a good job, a few of my buttons had peeling edges. The button stickers cover just the edges, which weren't large enough. When you don't realize it's there, it really won't bother you that much. In terms of the heated seats and rear seat entertainment controls on the back of the center console in my 2003 Tahoe, it did include steering wheel and HVAC controls, but I couldn't find the complete set of controls I wanted. If your buttons are so badly peeled at night that the sticker is coming through, light shines through. I thought it was worth the price in the end.
I put the stickers over my worn out buttons and they fit quite well. At night, the glow from the buttons shows wear and tear clearly through the stickers because the wear and tear is still visible. My next time I use these buttons, I'll probably just use a black sharpie on the buttons first so there would be less bleed-through in the dark.
These were accidentally discovered while I was looking for another article. Finding these buttons was a good find since my family bought me a 2004 Chevy Suburban for my birthday and all the buttons were almost worn out.
I like it just fine, but the stickers are not the same size and the light shows through the cover.
In exactly the same way.
A cheap-looking bag.
