A coil of this type was used this fall for the conversion of my 1952 Farmall Super A to 12 volts. It's fine. I'm taking apart a 1963 Cub to turn it into an RV this summer and will use this coil as well.

Horizontally mounted pipes should not be used

There was no mention in the instructions that it needed to be run vertically. This leads up to the next step. In order to fry mine horizontally, I did it in that.

You are wasting your money if you get this

There is nothing good about it. There was no time limit. It lasted for an I was mowing with no problems when my tractor stopped about an hour into the mowing session. When I turned the key on, smoke poured out of the coil as I began troubleshooting. This type of product has no durability. It needs to be designed to last for years, not just for an Although I wouldn't recommend it, I would like to see the manufacturer make a better product that resists wear and tear and actually lasts for a long time.

It is an Because the OEM version of this coil costs $70, and not being able to determine if this was the cause of my problem, investing $11 to discover would be very appealing. Currently, I am working on restoring a Cub Cadet 147 and have been chasing my tail between carburetor, points, and valve gap settings for weeks. There is not a single thing that will fix this newly rebuilt K321 engine. I didn't give it a second glance because it had a certain spark about it. It was a big As a result of a weak spark from the ancient original coil, I've had no problems. *** This thing runs perfectly now that a new coil has been installed. The finish of the product is grey and looks high quality. This is a great value, I will buy a back up and still pay less than Should there be a premature failure of this review, it will be revisited.

Don't put those pesky external resistors in there

The coil does just what it's supposed to do! In order to run my 12volt built Ford 8n, I was suggested that I use an INTERNAL resistor coil. By eliminating external resistors, it eliminates the risk of overheating the system. The spark is excellent, and it is easy to start.

It worked fine for about 1 1/2 months, then got damaged in the heat of operation. My coil is a cheap no name coil that I put on so I'll A lowering of the standards has taken place.
