My 2003 Mazda Protege5's performance was improved thanks to aftermarket parts. That is, until I decided to return to Mazda's recommendations. They were not only correct, but also correct in their assumptions. I'm only using NGK ignition parts, and my car seems to know what's best for it better than I do.
The fit is perfect, and the installation is simple. On a 2001 Miata, I had to replace the sparkplug wires. This was my first time, so I was a little apprehensive. However, the replacement was straightforward, and the NGK wires were a perfect fit. I didn't purchase the other two COP boots that came with the set because I was replacing the ignition coils at the same time.
My car was in need of a tuneup, so I bought a set of NGK spark plugs, as well as a set of blue spark plug wires to match my engine theme. I was ecstatic with my car's newfound power after installing the two. br>br>John Garcia br>br>.
I could have pirated part of the old coil and modified the new coil, but that would defeat the purpose of having a new coil.
These were used to replace wires that had come loose on my 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata. They've been able to withstand a lot of abuse on the racetrack since then. Furthermore, blue wires are attractive, but this is a matter of personal taste.
I replaced the OEM wires at the same time as the coils and plugs, and they fit perfectly and function properly.
Unlike what some people believe, you only need one set of these, not two. It works really well, I noticed a difference in idle time, and the color is really nice.
For my 2002 Miata, this was exactly what I needed. br>br>I had just replaced a coil pack and figured I might as well do plugs and wires at the same time. br>br>Great fit, great function, and it's still working great a year and a half later.
