Questions & Answers
The valve covers are bolted on top of the heads for center-bolt type heads (vortec) but yes, you can use them with headers as well. The wire seperator option will also work with headers if you have older heads that have covers on the sides. These wire seperators can also be used with older headers.
They fit snugly in the blocks after I used 8mm. Assume 8 is true. Since you are using 5mm then I suggest putting the blocks into a bench vice and stepping them up to fit the hole size. As a result, they look great and work well. A couple of other notes, the center 2 valve cover bolts that came with the wire looms only threaded in 1/3 threads. I went to HD and got four 1/4" longer bolts for the center 2 and two 1/4" longer bolts for the outer two bolts. Allen heads made of black oxide. It has a nice look and works well.
I am unsure. It looks nice with the aluminum since the valve covers match it.
Only a 350 with center bolt valve covers will be able to use this part.

I found the bolts to be too short on my unit. It seems to be a given that every review is saying this. There are three bolts included with the kit. The screws should be 3" in diameter, not 5" 75" in length. Because only specialist bolt distributors have 1/4" by 3 sizes, there is a problem. The bolts are 75 inches long. In many instances, it is not appropriate to use the 1/4" spacers supplied with the kit and instead buy 4" bolts and a 1/2 spacer. Having this feature actually made threading the nuts and bolts for wire holders a lot easier. In order to drill out the plastic wire holders for my eight wires, I also had to drill out the wire holders. A plug wire of 5 mm is required. A 3/8" drill bit and a vise were all I needed to assemble them. However, the product is great in all other respects.
It fits perfectly once that is done and looks lovely and clean when it is. As you set the wires in and temp the holders in place, you can attach to the engine, it seems to go pretty smoothly, and then once the wires are where you want them, you can fasten the fasteners Crimp your wires after you have cut them to fit.
The bracket itself is pretty nice, but the bolts aren't The 1/4 inch I needed to buy cost me $3. 15. To make a new GM crate stroker use bolts, I had the bolts machined down to 6mm before fitting them through the valve covers. It is surprising that the manufacturer has not addressed this issue, since almost every review mentions that the nuts and bolts will not.
Despite the fairly short lead time, the set arrived in a timely manner and looks fantastic Having never worked with a product like this before, I struggled a little to get the installation to work correctly. I had to make a couple of attempts before I got the length of each wire into the guides and snugged them down. When using an allen wrench and a box wrench you don't want to lose your grip over the valve cover so you attempt to adjust the length of four wires simultaneously. There's no way to do it with only two They should secure the nuts and the bottom of the wire guides to the frames so that when the two valve cover bolts are tightened, you can start with the front of the valve cover clamp and work your way back while holding a wire with one hand and inserting the clamp bolt It should have taken me a few minutes to install instead of an hour adjusting and readjusting The adjustment process. But indeed, this is a quality set, which looks great and works well.
The bolts need to be longer, but the quality is very good.
To be completely safe, the bolts must be 1/4 inch longer in the two center positions.
These bolts are not long enough and they look great, but they are not included. Purchasing bolts 1/4 inch longer is a good idea.
