Questions & Answers

It will work on an OMC-2 Ford from 1987. ?

As far as my 1989 2, I did install one. I use the 3 OMC cap and rotor and it works great, no more points. It works with what I have on hand.

Is this compatible with a 1997 Nissan pickup?

There is no part number for this. The ignition points on this part need to be replaced. Neither your Nissan nor your Toyota has any

My kit arrived today, but it only contains a metal plate with the ignitor on it, along with a plastic sleeve. Is that all there should be?

It comes with everything you need. Just take the condenser out and put the point back in. I would say that it is

This seems to be a series of Igniter II files? Do you prefer this version or the previous one? Thank you, sir?

I am not sure yet. Unfortunately, I do not have access to the box. While I know it is a 2 series igniter, I'm not sure that it is one of them.

Please contact customer service for more information. Aboard my boat, a OMC Cobra 2, I used it. I love how easy it is to install and how well it works. With this installation, the boat doesn't stall out any longer after about 15 minutes of running. Prior to this install it would not start again after 15 minutes or so.

This new engine feels like a brand new one
5/5

I installed it together with a Flamethrower Coil 3 Ohms on the two coils. It is wonderful to have three OMC Cobra sterndrives on your boat! I had no problems installing and understanding the program. Based on the wiring diagram, it's an easy task to add a new +12V line for the ignition system. I chose the terminal on the alternator and plugged a wire there to power the IgnitionI I like that the engine starts better and idles very smoothly compared to a four-cylinder The engine now reaches its maximum rate of speed after installation of the recommended You'd be better off if you did!.

My Bayliner 1750 OMC 2 from 1988
5/5

Drops right in after removing points and condenser from a 3 L Ford engine. This is a very simple process. The coil is connected to the terminals, and voilĂ ! This is done! As well as adding a 1, I added a 2. To match what Pertronix wants for 4-Ohm ballasts, a 6 Ohm resistor must be attached before the coil (over 3 Ohms in total) four-cylinder engines. There's no stopping her!.

Exactly what I needed
5/5

Whenever ordering from Pertronix, do not hesitate to call the techs. The installation of the Pertronix Ignitor was straightforward. The installation was in a 2 disk drive. An OMC Cobra I/O boat motor with a displacement of 3 liters. Pertronix has a great track record, so you might want to call them and speak to them The Pertronix company can convert the P/N you have into the correct one. Just tell them what you have. The people they work with are very helpful and knowledgeable.

It has been fixed perfectly

I was very impressed with how well it worked. If you're installing it on an OMC inboard engine, you'll need to make an "interrupt" fix.
