It has been very helpful to receive assistance from their customer service team. While the engine starts easier with points, I keep spare points and a condenser in my glove compartment in the event that a problem arises. As part of my install, I bypassed the ballast resistor and directly connected 12v to the stock coil, removing all wires from the solenoid to the ballast resistor and from the coil to the rectifier. As well as cleaning really well the negative ground from the battery to the engine (this is crucial). If you switch from point to electronic, you will need to retrain The timing and re-tuning of the engine The idle mixture screws need to be set, so be prepared to do it or arrange for it to be.

Did it work as expected On October 24, 2016, I purchased the item. He left me in the lurch. Having to have the truck towed was not an option for me. After I took the ignition points out, I used the same ignition point for the rest of the time. Fortunately, I somehow managed to keep the condenser and points. This was an old, reliable technology that I reinstalled. My replacement will be arranged by phone. A UPDATED VERSION Pertronic customer service will ship out a new one when you call their customer service.

Keeping it simple is my goal. After removing the points, removing this module, and installing it in the truck, it was ready for driving. My program started on the very first try and has worked well. The timing is perfect where I set it when the points were in the right place.

Works very well, I installed it on a 1976 IHC Scout with a stock 345 engine, and the engine produces power up to 5000rpm now. Designed to be used with Flame thrower II coils.

My Scout was a lot more comfortable with this kit. This is an easy to install product. I found it to be more difficult to slip on and off than I had anticipated. Just the right angle and a little wrinkling were required for the magnet to go Keep an eye out for any tiny screws you may drop. Following the installation, I had to come up with some time to work on other things.

This has not been much of a topic for me. I could not have been more happy with how well it fit and converted. In addition to some good resources for installation and troubleshooting, the company's website provides some good resources as well. My opinion is that it is a better option for direct replacement points than MSD ignitions because there is no need for special hardware and there are no additional boxes required.
