I liked the design, but I think that the stock should have been thought out better

This part was designed to provide an additional stud, however, it is not as functional as the stock unit in one important respect. Stock clamps on SBCs have the neat feature that you can loosen the bolt, slip it away, and pull the distributor out. There is not enough room in the slot for the lock washer, so you will have to remove tge nut and lock washer each time. Drop those a couple of times, and you will wish they had spent more time actually using it before developing the slot. In order to install the stud, a cold dist pull is needed once, but it would be much easier if the slot were ever a "tiny bit longer", and afterwards the nut and washer could remain in place.
