That's literally true. According to everything I read, this one should work fine on my truck since I have the black module. Despite starting, idling, and being able to idle normally, the truck was not driveable. It worked perfectly once I installed the OEM module. This is too bad, because I was hoping for a little more performance and maybe even I received a refund from Amazon without having to ask for it.
Despite the performance gains, I'm happy with them. A 1993 Ford F-150 with five of them was the first to get it. A 5 in a 1992 F350, second in the family. You should always clean off the mounting surface and apply a thin layer of dielectric grease to the surface for best results. Be sure to remove the negative battery cable before beginning the installation. you are done, connect the battery and let the engine idle for a few minutes until the temperature gauge is within Once you have a 20 minute drive, it's time to turn it on. It is possible to adjust the behaviour of the OBD1 type of computer this way. You are now ready to go. Check your timing and verify that it's within spec. When you do not remove the battery cable for at least 15 minutes, you will experience run issues that can drastically affect the vehicle's performance.
Returning it was a good decision. There was a problem with it.
The only way I could get my car fixed was to get it towed to the shop. The product is not up to my expectations at all. I've given it a zero star rating.
Where the gray module is installed on the vehicle, this module will not work. This did not happen to me, at least.
