The trigger and stator I ordered from CDI arrived today. It looks like the Stator is perfect. The trigger I ordered was supposed to be brand new, but open boxed. Grain marks are present on the plastic as well as grease and oil. To send me a part like this shows a serious lack of inventory control. CDI makes good parts, but to send me one like this shows their lack of inventory control. I have a 1986 motor, and the trigger is still in good shape. It looks far better than the one they sent. I ordered a new one because I was going to replace the Stator and thought I might as well do both at once and was in urgent need of this part right There is a real danger that we will lose both our family vacation and our deposit if we do not correct this mistake. Make sure what you order is safe to eat.

There's no such thing as a bad CDI. A Mercury 45 horsepower classic 50 fitted my 86 Mercury.
